Billy Bob Thornton (“Intolerable Cruelty,” Academy Award® winner, Best Screenplay,
“Slingblade,” 1996) Bernie Mac (TV’s “The Bernie Mac Show;” “Charlie’s Angels: Full
Throttle”) and the late, great John Ritter (TV’s “8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage
Daughter”) star in this outrageous, twisted, merrily irreverent comedy.
Billy Bob Thornton is Willie T. Stokes, a washed-up, wise-cracking Department Store Santa who
can’t help but be more naughty than nice. Underneath his ill-fitting red suit, Willie is actually a
safecracker who makes one big score every Christmas Eve. As shoppers head home from the
mall, this Santa and his ingenious Elf - Willie’s smaller partner-in-crime Marcus (Tony Cox,
“Friday”) - crack the store safe and make off with their holiday stash. But then comes Phoenix.
Here Santa and his Elf find their annual heist endangered by a pesky store manager (John Ritter),
a savvy mall detective (Bernie Mac), a sexy Santa fan (Lauren Graham, TV’s “Gilmore Girls”)
and an innocent but beleaguered 8 year-old misfit (Brett Kelly) who decides to believe that Willie
– as intoxicated, acid-tongued and felonious as he seems to be – is the real Santa he’s seeking.

BAD SANTA is written by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa. Directed by Terry Zwigoff, the hip,
critically acclaimed director of “Crumb” and “Ghost World.”
On DVD, BAD SANTA will include hilarious deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes special, a John
Ritter tribute, outtakes/bloopers and more. Rated “R” For Pervasive Language, Strong Sexual
Content And Some Violence. Bonus DVD material unrated and subject to change. From

Hold on! Where's Mulan II? When's that out?

The trailer for Mulan II stated "Fall 2004" for the release. So I expect it in September or October (in the U.S.)

FREAKY FRIDAY (Original 1976) Edition (S.R.P. $19.99)

I am also most excited about the live action titles that are way down at the bottom of the press release. "The Princess Collection" gets a long write up, but not The Shaggy Dog?? Just please let them be OAR.

That 1967 animated Spiderman series sounds quite nice as well....

The Treasures tins will still come out in May. This press release was not meant to be a comprehensive list of every single DVD release Disney will put out this year, just a sampeling of some that retailers can expect, as well as spotlighting the ones that Disney expects to be big hits (such as Aladdin.)

Of those listed I'll be picking up:
Haunted Mansion
Calendar Girls
Bad Santa
Aladdin
Freaky Friday
Three Lives of Thomasina
Ugly Dachshund
Darby O'Gill & The Little People
Shaggy Dog
Dr. Syn, Alias The Scarecrow

Of course each depends on being OAR. 2004 just got a lot more expensive.

I sure wish Disney would remember a small star they had by the name of Hayley Mills and get out the original Parent Trap, Summer Magic & In Search of The Castaways. I've got all the rest of her Disney releases including the fullframe Moon-Spinners (the only non oar in close to a 500 dvd collection).

The original Parent Trap is out as an exellent Vault Disney two-disc SE and I believe Summer Magic is out as a P&S barebones catalog title.

Thanks for the info about Summer Magic Jake. I'll have to check it out. As for Parent Trap 2 disc SE it is a beauty (which I have). I was thinking original That Darn Cat but mistyped it as original Parent Trap. The 3 Disney Hayley I don't have are Summer Magic, In Search of The Castaways & That Darn Cat.

edit: according to ultimatedisney & amazon Summer Magic has not yet been released on dvd.

overall it looks like a great lineup, I'm very happy to see Bad Santa's coming to dvd (but wait, was that a Disney movie!!! :o The movie was very adult-ish..) The Princess collection also sounds neat. :) ............

.....I'm still disapointed we won't get Pocahontas though.

This is the BEST News EVER!!!!! I am so excited about this release and I'm so glad that they are indeed planning to release a Collector's Box Set!!!!!!

The only other title that sparked my interest was The Shaggy Dog. I really hope that this is released as a fully restored, 2 disc SE. I would also love it if they'd release the 1994 TV remake starring Scott Weigner (Aladdin)... Just think of all the cross promotion potential!

Oh, and incase it wasn't clear, the box set I was referring to was that of our favorite diamond in the rough... Aladdin

:D THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! :D

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm VERY VERY thankful to Mr. Luke for posting this wonderful news!!
I'm definitely even more excited for the Mickey-Donald-Goofy Three Musketeers, which will be a musical :D ! But it says their first movie together. Weren't they all together in The Prince and the Pauper and Mickey's Christmas Carol?

THE ONE AND ONLY GENUINE FAMILY BAND (S.R.P. $19.99) ! I remember watching this on Vault Disney, but couldn't see the whole thing b/c my mom made me go to sleep! I'm definitely getting this, or at least renting this DVD! "Let's roll it over with Grover! Don't rock the boat; give him your vote!"

What Kram Nebuer plans to save for:
~MICKEY DONALD GOOFY in THE THREE MUSKETEERS
~THE ONE AND ONLY GENUINE FAMILY BAND (S.R.P. $19.99)
~ALADDIN (Platinum Edition)- Definitely preordering it since the Disney Store brought back lithographs ( :D ) with Brother Bear! Though my Dad will criticize me for getting it since we already have the 10 YEAR OLD video version with 0 bonus features.
~THE SHAGGY DOG (S.R.P. $19.99)- Prince Philip mentioned the TV remake. I remember watching this too (with the dog named Bundles, hehehe). It would be ideal to include this with the orinigal movie and be fun to compare the 60's version with the 90's version.
~THE HAUNTED MANSION

Wow - that is a stellar lineup!

I will basically be purchasing most of those, so no need for me to make a list!

I appreciate the post luke! Nice find! :)
