“There have been contacts between Barça and Pixar,” he said, “they are negotiating with the American executives. It would not be a movie about the history of Barcelona, but an animated film in which the club is the protagonist.”

Pixar Film About FC Barcelona?
Re: Pixar Film About FC Barcelona?
Wow, that sounds really strange! I hope it's not true. I don't know how they would market the movie in Spain, I imagine it would be very divisive here. Barça fans would love it, but Real Madrid ones would hate it. And I'm not sure how other European countries with rival football teams would receive it either. I'm not opposed to a Pixar film about football, but I'd prefer they made it about a fictional team instead of a real one.

I don't really care for football so this wouldn't interest me much.

I don't know, it still doesn't interest me much. I'm not a sports fan though. I also know that Pixar has the ability to create extraordinary stories out of premises, that on paper, wouldn't sound very interesting. An almost mute love story between two robots or a rat wanting to be a chef, for example.D82 wrote:This article explains it a bit more: https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/02/02/in ... ature-film

I question the veracity of this story, mainly because Pixar doesn't take outside pitches, with the exception of The Incredibles and that's only because Brad Bird was very good friends with John Lasseter.
It's possible Pixar is producing a film based around football and set in Spain and they're doing their usual research trips. But I don't think Pixar is at the point where an outside organisation is talking with them about making a movie for them.
