Ideas for future Disney films.

Post by Simba3 »

Does anyone ever think of possible concepts for future Disney films?? Whether it be the setting, plot, characters, storyline or whatever? Do you ever think to yourself "Oh it would be so cool if Disney did a movie like _________"

I have, and here is one of the ideas I keep coming back to:

Films like the "Ice Age" movies and even more recently "Happy Feet" have really got me thinking that Disney should do a movie that is set in an arctic climate (but something totally different from either of those, of course). As most of you here have probably realized or heard me say by now, I really enjoy the Disney movies that features animal casts. I think a movie set in the arctic would be cool. Some of the cool character possibilites would include: the arctic fox, polar bears, walrus's, seals, penguins, arctic wolf, snow geese ect. It could even have a storyline/messege about global warming.

What do you guys think of my idea?

What are your OWN ideas for future Disney projects??

I've always had this idea engraved in my head:

A fairy/fearie (I like the England way better than American) awakens to find that someone is tapping at her bedroom door. Opening the door, she find the notorious villian of the story (name=unknown), and tries to capture her (because?=unknown), she flies away through the corridors of the castle, and escapes through a trap door on the cieling (I know, weird). There a small creature (mouse/bird/insect=unknown) finds her, and wonders what is the matter. Then she tells of how she met this boy fearie, from an opposing family, and how they fell in love, then she was taken away from him (time period=unknown), and how the villian of the story tries to steal a rare and valuable item (item=unknown) from his brother, the King of the town (town=unknown).....

I'm still working on it, but what do you think?

Maybe we could do one like "Happy Feet", in that it's set in a polar climate, only instead of Antarctica way down south and featuring penguins, it could be the Arctic way up north and featuring seals. The story could be about an outcast seal named Salty (maybe he could be voiced by Chris Pine), who feels alienated from his own kind. He does things to try and help, but it only keeps pushing him away. The seals are being oppressed by killer whales (think A Bug's Life), but Salty eventually saves the day. That's all I can think of for an idea for the moment...

Even though it's Pinocchio in stuffed-animal form, I've always wanted to see Disney tackle The Velveteen Rabbit as a 2D animated film.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Disney head back into the scifi genre, perhaps a remake of The Black Hole that is less sleep-inducing (I love the film, but at times it can be truly slow-paced and numbingly dull), or a wholly new idea for a space adventure movie series.

Would also be really kickass to see Disney do a splashy fullblown live-action musical again.

I would love to see a Disney movie about wolves.
I don't really have an idea for a story, but I like wolves and loved the movie "Balto", so I guess it would be cool to see a Disney movie about these animals.

I always thought it would be cool if Disney did a story derived from Of Mice and Men. Not the exact story, but it could be more kid-friendly, and have like 2 migrant workers looking for a job during the Great Depression (I've alwyas had a picture of what Lennie would look like if Disney did a take on the movie, and I would have Billy Crystal or Nathan Lane be the voice of George), but on the way they find a beautiful girl and they must spend their time winning her love or searching for a job. It could be called IOf Mice and Women (the logo would have the Of Mice and Men part, but there would be like a girly, script "wo" in front of the "men"). I know it is a stupid idea, but it would be kinda cool.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of the Chronicles of Prydain. They already did the Black Cauldron, so it would be cool to see Disney try some of the other books, I can't remember what any of them are called though  Or maybe even they could get the rights to do a Calvin and Hobbes movie, that would sooo rock, getting to see them play Calvinball against intergalactic aliens    for now it's just wishful thinking....

Two reason it won't work.
1. Since Black Caldron was a finanical flop, obviously they aren't going to bother with the others.

2. Even if it was possible it would be much harder as Black caulron techinically combines stuff from all the books.

I know no one posted this in a while, but the future Disney film would be "Spark" the medival fish-out-of-water knight!

I don't think it's literally about a fish out of water. That's just me though.

I remember Island of the Blue Dolphins. I've only seen one live action movie of it. It was old though.

But either live action or animated, that would be a book that has rarely been done.

There was a 1995 adaptation of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It had Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Brad Renfro as Tom and Huck.

Spark would be good for an animated Disney classic about a medival Fish-Out-Of-Water Knight Hero. It's a fantasy/action/comedy. He has to beat the Disney Villian, Wizard Catastrophe.

Spencer Breslin would play Spark, Tim Allen would play Knight Armor & George Carlin would play Wizard Catastrophe.

Okay, I always thought that Disney should do a Thumbelina, like this,

Thumbelina lives on a farm during the Great Depression. She wonders if there is anybody else out there like her, so she sets out to New York City to see if there is anyone else like her. So, we follow the orginal story just with a mix up 1920s thrown in. We could end with her getting wings in Central Park.

I don't know NY geology well, I'm from TN.

And then I thought Disney should retell Gargoyles in CGI and live-action.

Gargoyles- Part One: We Live Again
Basically the first five episodes, but without the flashbacks.

Gargoyles: Part Two: The Mirror
The second season episode with more meat and a bit different.

Gargoyles: Part Three- A New Day
I'm coming up with that one

Gargoyles: The Battle
A prequel to the previous movies, and really the flashbacks from the first five episodes.
