The Christmas Present Thread 2005

Post by Wonderlicious »

*Update*: One Year on and Christmas is yet again one more sleep away. Once you've opened 2005's goodies, post your lists of what you got here! You can also put what you gave if you want. :p

Bump, Bump Bump it Up!

It's that time of year again, so Uncle Joe is asking you all what you got for Christmas. I understand that it's a day early, but some of us have already got one or two goodies (myself included, though only one :D) and being the power hungry/self-obsessed turnip that I am, I wanted people to post in one of my threads, so I made sure it got bumped a day early. Ha ha, I'm evil!

Santa doesn't come until tonight, so anyone posting their gifts has peeked or they don't believe in the 'big guy'.

With eight grandkids we have to play along with the Santa thing until tomorrow morning (oh, so early, probably 6 or 7 am). We are babysitting three of the grandkids tonight so that will make it special when we get up in the morning.

I hope Santa thinks I have been pretty good this year because I did ask for more than usual.

My immediate family got together, last night, and exchanged gifts.

I received:

My Mom and Step-Father gave me a King size Vellux blanket, some HisStory All-over Body Wash, some RDX Cologne Spray, a wallet, a new comforter, and shams.

My Sister, her Husband, and my nephew bought me Fruit of the Loom socks and boxer briefs. I REALLY needed these. A man can never have too many socks and boxer briefs!

My Step-Sister and Step-Brother gave me a Toastmaster Wide Toaster (so wide, I can toast bagels), and a gift card to Wal-Mart.

I attended my work party, last weekend.

My Boss and his Wife gave each employee all sorts of great things, plus $300.00. In my work stocking, I got a Shower Clock/Radio, some card games, gum, Logan's Run (DVD), a $30.00 Quik Trip gift card, a $16.00 Cinemark Gift Card, a Polar Express Hallmark Bell ornament, a Polar Express Golden Ticket (bookmark), and several other trinkets!

With some of the money I got from my Boss, I bought several DVD's (which I've listed in the DVD thread), and two media storage cases, to put all of my DVD's into.

I've had a great Christmas!

I can't wait to enjoy Christmas with my immediate, and extended family, tomorrow!

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and enjoy being with your family, and friends. They are truly the best gifts of Christmas!

As it is Christmas Night here in my neck of the woods, I can now tell you what I got for Christmas:

From Auntie June: Tarzan II and Cinderella II - Dreams Come True
From Mum: The Tigger Movie and The Jungle Book 2
From Aunty Beryl: $50 (so I can spend it on what I want)

(a lot of Disney DVD stuff there) ;)

What I geve Aunty Beryl: McLeod's Daughters - The Complete fourth Season (VHS, she didn't want the DVD version yet, although she has an extensive DVD library)
I gave mum The Samurai - The Complete 3rd Series.
Aunty June: I bought the R4 version of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection volume 2, which was re-packaged as four seperate volumes. (she is as big a cartoon fan as I am.) :D

I still have a gathering with the other side of the family tonight, but here is the brunt of this year's gift load. It's been a great Christmas!

$25 gift card to Best Buy
Saved by the Bell: Seasons 1-2 DVD
    Peanuts Holiday Collection DVD Set
    Gargoyles Season 1 DVD
Jumanji SE DVD (+ ticket to Zathura, which I've already used)
10 Things I Hate About You DVD
    Mr. & Mrs. Smith DVD
    The Bourne Identity DVD
    Basketball Diaries DVD
The Interpreter DVD (will have to exchange this because I already have it)
    Narnia bookmark
    Lots of clothes
    Cologne
Red, white, and blue plush elephant
The 2005 PEZ Ornaments (I collect these)

Giant talking Darth Vader PEZ Dispenser
    A giant decorative Santa stocking
    Lots of very nice cards
A massage chair... but the whole family agrees it must go back for cash because it's sadly much more painful than soothing
