Enjoyed the Carol Burnett episode of Glee. The show still sucks as far as story lines and the way they just break into song without any prompting.

Carol Burnett is one of my favorite TV personalities and I also consider her a good friend. I was in the audience at so many of her television shows that I was brought back stage before one show to meet her, and now each year since that meeting, I receive a birthday card on my birthday and the family gets a really nice Christmas card each year.

I just wish "Glee" was more appealing to people my age, but it isn't, and those who enjoy the show are missing some really "good" television shows that are on at the same time.

If they want to keep the realism of the show, they will do what is said in the article and change the cast every two years. And I don't think we need any 30-year-olds playing high school students, gad!!!! what is up with that???

I think that if they are striving for realism, they should graduate the class each year, but I am okay with every two years. Some of the cast members are already long n the tooth (getting old and it shows it).

Like I have said before, there are so many other good shows on television at the same time, I DVR "Glee" and watch it at another time. Still not a big fan, but will never knock those who are. I just think that the younger you are the more you appreciate "Glee".

I've read about this earlier (thanks for the link, though, Ames ) and I really don't know what to think. The thing that really got me hooked on Glee was Lea Michele. For me, she and her character are the essence of the show (along with Matt Morrison and his character). Once she graduates, I really don't know whether or not I will continue to watch the show. Rachel Berry is my favorite character and Lea Michele is the epitome of awesomeness (for a 24 year old Broadway star; I've loved her since Spring Awakening). I may check out the show after this cast graduates, but I don't plan on really watching it without Lea in it. Sad, but true. I would love to see Lea in the planned revival of Funny Girl, though. Hopefully she'll graduate and then move on to that project.

I just think that the younger you are the more you appreciate "Glee".

The problem with any series concerning pupils and students (be it at school or university) is that it directly has to deal with the passage of time; somebody whose presence was large one year could be gone in just another two or three. I'd rather they simply not go on forever and have to add a constant flux of new characters, as it'd really come across as jumping the shark. I would rather the show last just another two or three more seasons, and stop around the point when Finn and Rachel graduate (presuming they're in the same year, or at the very least just a year apart).

I have to agree that I'm not particularly happy with this. This also contradicts what he's said on shows like Oprah, that he planned to keep them forever. I'm guessing that some of the actors plan to depart once their contracts are up after the third season. Which does make sense, because they're really hot right now, they need to make the most of it before people start to forget about them. Plus, the show is probably a lot of work--between acting, singing, and learning new choreography every few weeks. I'm sure it's exhausting.

Anyway, maybe they'll introduce new characters I'll love as much. I've really liked a lot of the new characters they've had this season, so... As long as Sue's on, I'm fine. And, besides, with new characters there can be new dynamics, new stories, etc.

But, yes, the decision reminds me a lot of Skins.

Agreed. But it works on "Skins" because they knew from the get-go that they'd have to change the cast every couple of years. On "Glee", the announcement comes as "Oh crap, we've got a show that can actually go beyond 3 years...what do we do now?"

The way I see it, they'll likely be introducing a couple new kids in the second half of the second season, and again throughout the third season, during which the original New Directions kids will graduate. Then, the fourth season (Fall 2012) will continue with those kids, and new additions.

What bothers me is that if the entire cast graduates in 2012, that means they've all been in the same grade all this time (first season they were sophomores, this season they're juniors, next season they'll be seniors), which makes it odd that twelve kids from one grade is all that constitutes a choir, that a sophomore was a captain of the football team, another sophomore was captain of the cheerleading team. Granted, they could be JV and we simply never see the Varsity teams. But I doubt that's what they're doing.

I'm actually not surprised by this announcement. I had noticed when watching season 1 that the kids were sophomores, and that's when I realized they'd all graduate at the end of the third season.

I'll give the new kids a chance, but if it turns out the show loses its charm, I'm hoping the third season has a solid ending so I can just stop there if I have to. It'd be annoying if it ended in a cliffhanger.

I like that version much better than the actual version. Jenna and Dianna both got to sing and all of their individual entrances were cool. Too bad this wasn't the Regionals version that we got.

I feel kind of disappointed about tonight's episode and it seems like a step down from last week's episode. I really enjoyed all of the parts with Brittany and Sue (loved the re-enactment of How the Grinch Stole Christmas), but other than that it felt pretty dull. The only song that I really appreciated was Merry Christmas, Darling. I can't for the life of me figure out why they didn't put the wonderful covers of Angels We Have Heard on High and O Holy Night. For me, they were the best songs on the Christmas Album. I don't know, this episode was just kind of iffy and all around not that spectacular. At least we only have to wait 2 months instead of the 4 month break we got last season.

They are graduating in 2012..?..gah! Does this mean that we'll really see Lea Michele in a Broadway revival of "Funny Girl"? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth...and not from excitement. She absolutely butchered "Don't Rain On My Parade" at the Tony Awards this year...

Wasn't there some storyline about Kurt giving her a makeover (and then she'd probably advertise her Christmas CD by singing a song)? I have to admit, I'm disappointed. That storyline would've been more interesting than the Grinch re-enactment we got. And "Baby, It's Cold Outside" seemed totally out of place. They were on there for one scene and were never seen again.

Still, I loved the scene for "Last Christmas" and I enjoy Coach Beiste more and more.

I think that was only ever just a rumor. It had never been confirmed, I think Murphy just said something along the lines that he would love Boyle to play a cafeteria worker that Kurt gives a make-over to in the Christmas episode.

Anyway- my personal thoughts.

I thought, overall, it was a strong episode, and I enjoyed. I'm definitely going to rewatch it this Christmas season, and hopefully others in the future.

One thing that didn't gel with me was how overt they went with the Grinch thing. The whole Sue/Becky thing was brilliant until Sue put on the green face paint. Then I just couldn't take her seriously anymore, it was too over the top. Also, they did exactly what I dreaded most of all- having Sue repent for her misdeeds after hearing the Glee Club sing.

Okay, I knew that was coming (although I was hoping they wouldn't sing "Welcome Christmas", I think there's more touching Christmas songs out there, but whatever...), but what I really wanted to happen was Sue and Becky would be caught, Sue would get out of it, but Becky would get suspended for stealing the gifts. Sue, of course, would hate this, fix it in some manner (let the writers hammer out that detail), and at the end we'd be content in knowing all was well with the world.

Also, Kurt has kind of been getting on my nerves. I've never been anti-Kurt, if anything I've always leaned towards being a Kurtsie, but after "Furt", I started to get sick with him. So this episode, they brought him and Blaine back for a very short time to do a lovely rendition of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" which I thought was great. As long as the next couple of episode remain Kurt-drama free as this one was, I'll be okay.

Favorite songs of the episode- Probably "Merry Christmas Darling", "The Island of Misfit Toys", and "Baby, It's Cold Outside."

And one more thing- it's going to KILL if it takes forever for Finn and Rachel finally get back together.

I'll probably just wait for the full season set next year. There's nothing too special on this set. Plus, it will probably all be on the full season set.

Fox really knows how to milk the money from this show. Half-season sets, then complete seasons are also released down the track... Why don't people just wait for full seasons, as they work out cheaper than getting half-seasons in the end...
