I can't really get that excited about an obligatory Christmas album/episode, but it's nice to see a Rudolph song and "Mr. Grinch" on the list.

As someone who loves Christmas music a little too much, this makes me excited. I really hope they do a Christmas episode. The lack of anything that even referenced Christmas in season one felt odd to me. In fact, I don't think any holidays were even mentioned at all as happening, meaning most of the episodes could've taken place any time. With the Rocky Horror episode and the possibility of a Christmas one, it looks like season two is showing more a concrete passing of time.

(Although I'm disappointed we're not getting my all time favorite Christmas song: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. That song's perfect for Rachel and/or Kurt.)

Yeah, it's funny that I was talking to my mom about this not a week or so ago. I was sure they would have a Christmas album this year, where they had only had a single last year (I loved their version of "Last Christmas" btw).

I've never been a huge fan of Christmas songs, except when the old classics are re-done with a relatively new sound (because listening to the same songs every year, by the same people, and over and over, is really annoying), so I'm sure I'll love Glee's renditions.

I'm especially excited to see what they do with "Jingle Bells." And I'm glad they didn't do "All I Want For Christmas Is You"--though that's what I would've expected--because they could never top Mariah's version.

I'd give it to Kurt. Rachel already has a stranglehold on Barbra's songs.

"Have Yourself..." is my all-time favorite Christmas song too. Ironic given my feelings towards the movie it came from.

It's actually from the movie Albert and I debated you'd find too sweet back on Wednesday:

I think you <strike>have enough of a soul</strike> are optimistic enough to appreciate the movie unlike some, even if those others have exhibited good taste elsewhere such as in Christmas song selections. :P

To bring this back to "Glee", Meet Me in St. Louis is so optimistic it could cure cancer.

And that's way too optimistic for me. I'll just :) rather than :D

For all of you who were worried about there not being a Christmas episode, you're in luck:
Speaking of Glee, I can now confirm that the show is planning a Christmas episode. I don’t have any other details at the moment. I do, however, have a suggestion for Ryan Murphy: Please give us (read: me) an It’s a Wonderful Life homage with Sue at the center. I, er, we don’t ask for much.
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/10/20/ ... e-30-rock/

I'm guessing that some of the songs on The Christmas Album will be incorporated into the episode and then the other songs not featured will just be "bonus" songs. I do wonder, however, that since Ryan Murphy wanted Susan Boyle as a guest star on the episode if she's actually going to be on it and sing a song, or not.

I'm gonna watch tonight, but very reluctantly because the promos for tonight's episode don't look to good. I will DVR it and watch it after I watch the number one show in the country NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles and tonight's episode of No Ordinary Family.

Fair warning to you GLEE lovers, I am a true fan of "Rocky Horror Picture Show", so they better not screw this one up.

I think we'll survive another night of you not liking yet another episode of "Glee", Bill, regardless if you're a fan of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. ;)

I just wanted to post this for people who may want to know. I know the track listing for the Christmas CD has already been posted, but the list of singers has been added.

1. "We Need A Little Christmas" (Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer)
2. "Deck The Rooftop" (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, and Jenna Ushkowitz)
3. "Merry Christmas Darling" (Lea Michele)
4. "Baby, It's Cold Outside" (Chris Colfer and Darren Criss)
5. "The Most Wonderful Day Of The Year" (Chord Overstreet, Mark Salling, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Heather Morris)
6. "Last Christmas" (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Chris Colfer)
7. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" (Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, and Jenna Ushkowitz)
8. O Christmas Tree (Matthew Morrison)
9. "Jingle Bells" (Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, and Kevin McHale)
10. 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" (k.d. lang and Matthew Morrison)
11. "Angels We Have Heard On High" (Amber Riley)
12. "O Holy Night" (Lea Michele)

I'm glad Chord Overstreet is going to be on there at least once. Too bad there's no Charice. Also, I'm a little disappointed that they don't have many group songs--where all the cast members are together. I'm glad they separate them, so Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, et al can get a chance to shine, but I like the big numbers where they're all involved, too.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside" (Chris Colfer and Darren Criss) <3

This season needs to get moving! :D

I also read that Mark Salling (Puck) had a solo CD released, unrelated to the show.

I incredibly surprised that Dianna is not mentioned ANYWHERE in the CD. It's upsetting. :(

Next to Lea, Dianna is one of my favorite voices. It's very unique and I really dig it. It's very upsetting that she is nowhere to be found on the album. However, I am very excited that Jenna gets to sing in multiple songs. It's about dang time that she gets more stuff to sing. She does need a solo though. Her last one was True Colors like a century ago. I'm not too excited about Baby, It's Cold Outside, but I can just skip it if I don't like it.

I actually always found Dianna to be one of the weakest of the cast, tbh. I mean, she does have a pretty voice, but she seems to be very limited. She does good if they give her songs that fit her though (I loved "Papa Don't Preach"). Still, it's disappointing that's she's not on there at all.

To TheSequelofDisney, do you just not like that song ("Baby, It's Cold Outside")? Tbh, I've never heard the song--it was more the singers I was thinking of, really. Chris Colfer is one of the weaker ones, too, but I like some of the songs he's done ("One Less Bell To Answer/A House Is Not A Home," in particular; "I Want To Hold Your Hand" was decent and that last song he had with Lea Michele was good, too).

I don't really like the song or Chris' voice. I've never heard Darren sing, though. I like Chris' Get Happy part of Happy Days Are Here Again / Get Happy, and I like what he does with The Time Warp (even though he really doesn't sing, he just talks) but I've never really liked how they always give him female songs. I may be wrong, but the only song he sang that was strictly male vocals was Pink Houses (which wasn't even released). I actually really like the lower part of his register, but they don't seem to feature it that much.

P.S. I will always and forever only listen to two versions of I Want To Hold Your Hand: The Beatles and T.V. Carpio's versions. I love both of those equally, and even though Glee's version is based on T.V.'s, I still don't like it that much (even though it is in Chris' lower register).

His very first song on the show was "Mr. Cellophane". ;)

Disney's Divinity, if you ever saw Elf, Zooey Deschanel and Will Ferrell have their own charming duet of "Baby, It's Cold Outside". :) It's been covered by many artists since it was first written (1944 according to wikipedia), though these two versions usually get a lot of airplay in December:

My favorite is the Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Jordan one, but the few-and-far-between clips of it on youtube sound like a muffled and scratched old record.
