Indiana Jones OR Star Wars DVDs?

Post by Alan »

I'm having a hard time choosing which to get: Indiana Jones or STar Wars DVD. I want Indiana Jones, but its kind of expensive, and I want star wars, but maybe its better to wait for the hexalogy? I don't know. Which DVD set is of better quality and has better extras?

They're both great sets, though Star Wars is both a stronger set and a stronger series. Still, it'll be cheaper in the long run to buy all of the Star Wars films at once if you plan on buying the new prequels, so go for Indy now.

They are both really great DVDs with some of the best trilogies in cinema history. Here are reviews for both to help you decide.

Indiana Jones: http://dvd.ign.com/articles/454/454424p1.html

And Star Wars (which I actually got today): http://dvd.ign.com/articles/545/545786p1.html?fromint=1

If you want all 6 Star Wars movies, and you have none of them already, go for the Indiana Jones set, and wait for the 6-movie box set of Star Wars later in the year.

Definitely Indiana Jones!

Except, um. . . I haven't bought that one myself! Don't get me wrong, that trilogy is amoung my most favorite of the live-action films, but I haven't gotten around to parting with my money for it just yet. I'm probably gonna buy it used.

Dude, we're giving you ideas. You've got three opinions and two actual reviews for the DVDs you want to choose between. That should be more than enough information for you to decide. I've read that you only buy movies with slipcovers, so if you're looking for an answer to that, yes they do have slipcovers.

I have both box sets so I'll have to go with Star Wars but if you can wait for November to get the 6 DVD set then go with Indiana Jones.

As Pasta said, you have ideas.

Okay, here's the basic idea:
What to buy: Indiana Jones
Why? : So you can buy the six-disc set of SW later on.
Do they both come with slipcovers?: Yes

Any other questions?

I'd go for Indiana Jones, the Star Wars series are just for a bunch of strange cultists anyway.

Excuse me? I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan out there, but it's certainly not a cult. Star Trek is more of a cult than Star Wars. Are you getting the two series mixed up?

To my knowledge, no one has named their baby Spock or had their name legally changed to Captain Kirk. So, no, I don't believe I've got the wrong series...

So naming babies after characters makes it a cult? Batman is a cult then since Kevin Smith named his daughter after Harley Quinn.

Well... I should edit. Some may have cultish behaviour but you are making a general assumption that all fans are cultists. :p

I enjoy the Star Wars movies much, much more than the Indiana Jones Trilogy, but as the others say, they'll be revisited soon, I'm sure. But then if there's a fourth Indy movie, as rumblings seem to say, that trilogy will be too. But then we're giving advice to someone who buys based on packaging, so maybe our words are being wasted.

Nrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Take that back!
(I can only provide a link because I haven't really gotten the hang of posting pictures yet. I tried twice, but failed. :( )

Seriously, that couldn't be more wrong. I know some people will worship that franchise, but I'm a fan and I am nothing like that.

I know. What's that all about?
And what are slipcovers? Exactly?

Cults? CULTS?!!! We frown upon that here.

And I'd love to talk more about the subject, but right now I gotta go worship at my Disney DVD shrine, review the steps needed to legally change my name to Arielhontas Cinderbelle Jasminala, and figure out which pose I want Stitch to be in for the tattoo on my forehead.
