Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion
There's some kind of Disney Villain bust series being made, the Ursula one is nice. I like the true love symbol at the base.
Listening to most often lately:
Ariana Grande ~ "we can't be friends (wait for your love)"
Ariana Grande ~ "imperfect for you"
Kacey Musgraves ~ "The Architect"

The Little Mermaid "Crash The Wedding" Evolution (1989 - 2023)
It shows the wedding scene between Prince Eric and Vanessa in an early workprint from 1987, another one from 1988 and one from 1989, and then a pencil test version.
Did you guys see this? It's amazing!

Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion
Yes, where on Earth did they find those?!
I liked how cute Eric looked in the pencil tests, and how Vanessa looks at him in that one shot after she looks at the sunset, like an urging him to say "I do"!

A great find and on Little Mermaid weekend too, what a nice coincidence.

I wonder if the animation of Vanessa's face at the moment of "You're too late!" was the same as the finished film or a little different? It looked a great deal like Cruella.

Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion
Head’s up: new shipments from Disney Movie Club are being packaged with free Ariel cookie cutters! YMMV, but I just received one with my copy of The Nightmare Before Christmas 4K and I’ve seen another poster on a different website also receive one. I should mention that I ordered TNBC with TLM 23 so that might be the trigger, or they might just be shipping them randomly. If you want to be sure, I’d call DMC to ask.
It’s a little cookie cutter with a paper that includes a recipe for sugar cookies and instructions to make salt dough ornaments! Nice little surprise!

What a fantastic, cool, incredible, super fan service mug! The magic bubble even lights up?! Damnit I'll never be able to get that awesome mug! I am a poor unfortunate soul!

Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion
My collecting days are mostly over. (I’m trying to downsize as I get older so I tend to purchase things I really, really can’t live without.) But that Ursula’s cauldron tiki mug is something I definitely would have gotten back in the day to drink my Margaritas out of when watching classic films and my soaps.
Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion
Trader Sam's makes the coolest collectible mugs. I've always wanted their Nautilus in particular, but between the price and my drinking days being over, that's not happening.
I do own one collectible tiki mug, a Scrooge one in the color of his lucky dime, and I'm using it to hide some of my collectibles for the character, like some lucky dime items for sale at Tokyo I got from a booth at the last D23, and chocolate coins a friend got for me at Disneyland earlier this year.

I'm the same. The last collectible I bought was a Jim Shore figurine of Snow White, when I went to Disneyland Paris in June. I mostly buy Blu-rays, CDs and books.carolinakid wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 8:40 am My collecting days are mostly over. Same, Vlad. My collecting interest lies in DVDS, books and CDs. (I’m hoping to get the 5CD expanded soundtrack of The Sound of Music for Christmas!)
Re: The Little Mermaid Discussion
Niice. I saw an unboxing video on YouTube, it looks amazing. I'll get after the holidays.

Nostalgia Critic's 1989 Little Mermaid Review is great, and features input from an original animator on the beloved masterpiece, Philo Barnhart! Plus, lots of Ariel model Sherri Stoner behind the scenes acting!

Yes, DisneyFan09, I sure do. I do not always agree with him, but he has smart and funny takes on media, and makes a lot of good points a lot of the time.
