I just got an email from EzyDVD, saying that my copy of Extreme Sports Fun had shipped!

That's nearly 3 weeks earlier than anticipated!

Will give a full review when it comes in, and I've updated the list to reflect this!

Ok, updated the list again to reflect the October release dates.

First up, October 13 brings us the big Disney release of the year - Aladdin. No specs have been announced as yet, but expect it to be a 2-disc set (like previous 'Platinum' titles) with a big promotion.

Also, a whole bunch of anticipated catalogue titles are out October 13: Big Red; Castaway Cowboy; Cheetah; Davy Crockett and the River Pirates; The Gnome-Mobile; In Search of the Castaways; Island at the Top of the World; Kidnapped; Million Dollar Duck; Shipwrecked and Unidentified Flying Oddball.

Ok, OFLC (Aussie ratings board) update.

Well, there isn't any date yet Mulan 2 HAS been passed through the OFLC (Aussie ratings board) at 79 minutes. Rated G. No more info there (it isn't quite as in-depth as the BBFC). More as it comes to hand. Expect a November release to coincide with the Aussie re-release of Mulan.

MICKEY'S - TWICE UPON A CHRISTMAS passed at 67 minutes.

DONALD'S LAUGH FACTORY at 66 minutes and MICKEY'S LAUGH FACTORY at 58. These are more than likely shorts, but of what I still don't know.

Both discs of LILO & STITCH COLLECTORS EDITION passed today as well.

Well jingle those bells because Disney are unleasing those titles primed for a Chrissie release. (NB: with the exception of Lilo & Stitch, all titles are out on November 10).

The two big Disney Animated releases are 2-Disc version Mulan and Lilo & Stitch (the former on the 10th, with the latter on the 18th). For live action, BVHEs gives us Mary Poppins: Special Edition(2 Disc) as the flagship titles. Mulan also has a direct to DVD sequel, Mulan 2 out the same day.

For the Christmas theme we get a re-release of Countdown to Christmas (a collection of shorts); Mickey's Magical Christmas; Twice Upon a Christmas (the 3D follow-up to Once Upon a Christmas); One Magic Christmas; and Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving.

There are also a whole lot of catalog titles and new releases which I will post later tonight (when I get home from seeing Ash).

What kind of specs are expected for Tom & Huck down under? Barebones like in Region 1? I'd love to see a Special Edition.

I'd just be happy to get it in widescreen. It's 2.35:1 and looks atrocious in pan and scan.

No specs yet, the listings are fairly plain at the moment. Hopefully we will see some closer ot the release date, but I expect the same. However, we have been given quite a few widescreen releases that the US have not, so anything is possible.

Well hopefully you'll get it in widescreen, and Region 1 will follow suit and rerelease. It's a popular movie, isn't it? As Luke said, the pan & scan is ridiculous. That and the lack of good features has kept me from buying it, but I don't know how much longer I can hold out, because I love the movie.

Keep us posted, Loomis. :)

Well, there is the Lilo & Stitch and Mary Poppins ones. But we are getting them first rather than instead on.

Yes, in fact the last time a big special edition came out in the UK first (i.e. Sleeping Beauty), the US had to one-up it with an audio commentary and a slipcover that "opens like a book".

Australians like to open books too!

mmm... maybe not, as having 20% more resolution and English, español, and François might take up the space of a DTS track?

Even if it has no DTS, Oz PAL it is for me. I already have the Aladdin soundtrack in PCM uncommpressed stereo anyway

In what might be a first from BVHE Australia, they've sent me a press release for October!

http://www.dvdbits.com/press/bvhe102004.htm

Aladdin remains the flagship title for the month (for October 13), along with the Aladdin Trilogy Digipack (which I reported Wednesday, and is now pictured to the below). No word on if the two Aladdin sequels will be available separately).

Also confirmed is the Lion King Trilogy Box Set for October 27, which will presumably be a 5-disc set containing the existing 2-disc The Lion King, the single Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and the 2-disc Lion King 3 (all are currently available separately in Australia).

I've updated the main list at the top of this thread to reflect this.
