I'm trying so hard to watch this show. The story is great and it actually feels like a direct sequel to the movie, but the animation is extremely jarring and distracting. There are little to no facial expressions since the characters are stuck on one (Like Honey is straight-faced the whole time with a tiny mouth and Wasabi just looks depressed) and the lip syncing is very robot-like.

I was just coming here to post that. I was going to try out the first hour episode, but I couldn't make it through the first half-hour and it wasn't because of the characters. I know the animation for Tangled and DuckTales aren't the best in the world either, but this was one of the worst animated shows I've seen before.

At least one Disney show was nominated. I have to catch up with the last episodes, but I like the plots of the ones I've watched so far. However, Baymax was the best thing in the movie for me and here he doesn't seem as funny or endearing as he was there, or at least that's the impression I've gotten.

Here are more episode titles:

More about Baymax Dreams:

https://www.awn.com/news/disney-and-uni ... ted-shorts

Quote:
“Working in Unity is like having every department at your fingertips -- it completely revolutionizes the production process,” said Smith. “The results of Unity’s parallel, non-linear workflow and real-time rendering meant we were able to make Baymax Dreams in half the time -- allowing us to spend the other half on experimentation and the creative process.”

“We are always looking at how our teams can innovate in ways that help move the industry forward -- it’s in our Disney DNA,” said JR Grant. “Baymax Dreams and the technology used to create these shorts represent an evolution of the traditional animation production process that allows for greater freedom, creativity and the ability to easily produce content across multiple platforms.”

The tech gives studios the freedom to do layout, animation blending, light, VFX, render, and composite all in one place, at the same time.

Sounds like the Baymax shorts are used as a testing ground for a technology that will be used in future animated features, and not just at Disney.
