Then what about the date they previously reserved for a WDAS film on November 21, 2018? That date hasn't been replaced with any other Disney film so I think it's still valid.

Wreck-It Ralph, which went on to earn more than $471 million worldwide. A sequel has been talked about ever since, and though star John C. Reilly announced he has signed on for Wreck-It Ralph 2 back in July, another star, Jack McBrayer, is a bit confused about his status on the project.

Screen Rant caught up with the former 30 Rock star to talk about his latest movie, the horror comedy Cooties, and asked him about reprising his role as Fix-It Felix. When asked how much he knows about the upcoming sequel, McBrayer said:
"You know, I honestly don’t know a great deal, which I’m not just saying to deflect, but if you hear anything, give me a call?"

To be sure, he’s playing coy to some extent, but it doesn’t sound like he knows much, if anything, about Wreck-It Ralph 2 at this stage. Later on, when asked if Felix plays into the story at all, McBrayer remarks how awkward it would be if the character has somehow been written out of this world.

Q: Any idea when Wreck-It Ralph 2 is coming?

Andrew Millstein: I’m not sure yet. Wreck-It Ralph was fantastic.

Q: How did the two of you wind up working together on this one?

Byron Howard: Rich is really gracious. About a year ago, we did a huge shift in this movie. [...] Rich was gracious enough to put what he was working on aside and come on to team with us to get the movie done.

Rich Moore: [...] The thing that I was working on, that’s not going to happen for several years. This is coming out next year.

Q: Were you working on your own project?

Rich Moore: I was, yeah. I was. And I said, absolutely, because that’s what we do at the studio. That’s if it’s all hands on deck, we put down what we’re doing and come to be to the service of the movie that’s kind of next in the line. And it was if for nothing else just that we had a finite amount of time and a lot of work to do. And it was not a one person job. It was a two person job. Just to make it on time.

Q: Any plans for a sequel?

Rich Moore: We would love to do more with the characters from Wreck-It Ralph! I mean, come on, there's still lots of things left for Ralph to wreck in his world.

Q: I'm a huge fan of Wreck-It Ralph. What do I need to do to get a sequel?

Rich Moore: What do you have to do? Not much! [laughs]

Q: But is there any talk on that?

Rich Moore: We're thinking about it. I'd love to do that. I love that movie. I love the characters. It's near and dear to my heart. So, fingers crossed!

Q: Is there any truth to there being a Wreck-It Ralph sequel?

Rich Moore: Well, it would be so great to do a Wreck-It Ralph 2. Beyond is it really happening, I can’t really say anything right now. Man that would be awesome. And if we did one, oh my God, it would be such a great movie. It would be so good.

Rich Moore – director of Wreck-It Ralph – has whispered that a sequel is most definitely happening, and revealed that he’s working on getting Mario in the movie.

While speaking with the writer-director at the Zootropolis junket, IGN asked if a sequel is on the cards, to which Moore laughed and responded with the words “maybe, maybe” and then nodded and mouthed the word “yes.”

“I think the world of that first film is so big and the characters are very rich and I just think that they have more stories in them” he elaborated. “The end of the movie felt like a launching point. It felt like it wouldn’t be straining to tell another story in that world as some films are. To me, I feel like I can definitely see where it would go, and I think the audience kind of felt that way too.”

Q: The last time we spoke was for Wreck-It Ralph, which I was and am a huge fan of.

John C. Reilly: Well, we’re making another one!

Q: Are you already doing that?

John C. Reilly: We’re working on it.

Q: I hope we get to see a sequel, sooner rather than later.

John C. Reilly: Yeah, me too. [Animated features] take a long time to make, though, so be prepared.
