This is a poem I wrote on deviantart and sharing it here

A Friend Like You

A final wish
One he regrets
For you must be careful
What you wish for.

Back into the lamp
Vanishing in blue mist
No matter how hard we wish
This genie isn't coming back.

A talented comedian
Who cracked jokes
Inspired those he met
Changed lives down the road.

An amazing actor
That rocked films
Made us jump for joy
Laugh at his cross-dress
When he became a nanny.

Brought joy and laughter
That brightened the world
Like a lightbulb in a dim room
Shining brighter than the rest.

He made us laugh
Made us cry
Never should
Of said goodbye.

You shall be missed
Here on planet Earth
Yet your star shines bright
For the world at night.

Shine bright
Dear knight
Cherished friend
May you be at peace.

Never had we
Had a friend
Like you
To change lives
With your laughter.

It feels like someone just pushed me down to the ground without warning. The death of Robin Williams is like losing a part of my family.

I last heard from Robin on my birthday, when he called to tell me that he would see me at my 75th birthday next year.

Robin and I have been close friends ever since we competed in a stand-up comedy contest that he, naturally, won. We bounced off each other well, and could make each other laugh instantly.

I am truly going to miss him. I know he was tormented by depression these past few years, and having survived his drug and alcohol addicitions, he has held his head high.

When CBS announced the cancellation of "The Crazy Ones", he had told some of his friends that his career was 'almost over'. I am sure that is what lead to him taking his own life.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family in this time of sorrow. We can all remember the smiles he brought during his short life.

R.I.P.: Robin Williams

I am sorry for your loss, dvdjunkie. It is incredibly sad news.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.

I'm sorry for being late, but yeah, it is depressing news. Robin Williams' death has got to be the only celebrity death that I find sad.
