"The Next Right Thing" is a mess structurally. It's like two different songs awkwardly stitched together. There are things that I like about it such as the first verse and Kristen's performance but there's practically no chorus and the one that does exist is not at all melodic or memorable. In fact, I find the repetition of the phrase "the next right thing" quite annoying. The crescendo at the end is nice by itself but feels detached from the rest of the song. Also, I think a lyric in the song in ungrammatical. It goes "it is all that I can to do" when it should be "it is all that I can do". It's not a bad song per se; it's just mediocre. They could have written something more impressive and lyrical given the sequence's subject matter.

Well, okay. I'm not bringing the issue up because of loving the song. In fact, I think it's pretty meh and I usually loathe such sad ballads with a burning passion (just to the mere fact that I find them dreadful, hahahahaha ). I'm just summarizing how it functions within the movie. It's not a memorable song, but it's not as goddamn awful as such ballads can be. In fact, it really never felt superfluous, nor did it slow the movie down.
It just struck me that it's rarely that such ballads appears late in Disney animated features. And it pretty much serves the same function as aforementioned If I Never Knew You from Pocahontas (a grave, serious, yet wistful ballad in the last half of the Movie, though of course both ballads are entirely different) and therefore stucks with the same risk. It's remarkable that I didn't found it too sappy or too overwhelmingly hevy. And besides, it's pretty remarkable and risky to give the adorkable, peppy, happy-go-lucky Anna such a solemn ballad. But I guess that was due to her maturity.

Something about it doesn't sound right. Like something needs to follow the "can", the sentence can't end like that when it starts with "It is all that...". In addition, the music makes "It is all that I can to do" one sentence.

I never realized that was anachronistic. I actually like that line but Frozen has always been super modern and anachronistic anyway. Just look at basically anything Anna ever says in the films.

Im surprised we are getting so many bonuses, I thought Disney was done with doing that for physical releases. Those deleted scenes sound intriguing. I can believe that this film really did have over 50 rewrites!

Yeah, this release may not be packed with extras but it certainly feels that way after the lackluster previous Disney releases which get about a handful of bonus features at best.
