And while Walt Disney never recorded any voices for a "Get a Horse!" short, vintage recordings of Walt were assembled so that it is indeed his voice in the cartoon. While the beginning of "Get a Horse" cleverly appears to be a vintage Disney short, midway through, Mickey emerges in full color modern computer animation.

Google Translate wrote:In view of the reactions from the audience after the screening, I think few people expected that we planned, and about a very big surprise is no exaggeration. The short film begins as a short original from 1928, when suddenly the screen starts to vibrate and Mickey comes out ... color and 3D. Get a horse! is indeed a clever (and impressive) blend of traditional 2D animation and CG animation, bonus in 3D, for a simply stunning result.

The animators Eric Goldberg and Adam Green have worked together to restore Mickey's original look from 1928 . E. Goldberg is well trained (and we showed with remarkable ease live) to draw and animate a Mickey in the original style. To complete the illusion, aging and blur filters have been added to the image. For the 3D part, leaders have created a whole new character models, faithful to chara-design of 1928 ... so true that the passage of the characters from 2D to 3D is stunning with a natural, like this scene round where the characters jump from one setting to another.

Walt Disney lends itself well and truly the voice of Mickey, but not of unused or found by chance recording. All the replicas from existing records and / or other short films, which required considerable work to "Cropping" Mickey's voice, the original recordings are mostly single track and including also the background music and sound effects.

After Paperman , Walt Disney Animation Studios we prove once again that they know their heritage and intend to use it. A technical bid, they prefer to technical (new or not, but always used cleverly) serving a true story, touching and moving. Mickey, Minnie, Horace, sinister, they are all there ... and we offer a great moment of cinema and emotion. Get a horse! 's a great surprise, a clever mix between 2D and 3D animation (with two legendary leaders such as Eric Goldberg and Adam Green) a short film of 2013 in a 1928 environment ... a new nugget to be missed!

Yeah! This is what I like to hear.

More Mickey from WDAS is a good thing. The studio shouldn't be afraid to use its heritage in this competitive field. Their rich history sets them apart from the other key players.

I'm confident Mickey can entertain audiences, be it in short or long form, as well as any other modern animated character.

Oh no, they will do exactly what the marketing people come up with even though the jig was up like 4 months ago.

Wow, when I heard this was supposed to be something old something new, I didn't expect that something old to be cels. I wonder when we can expect our first clip to pop up.

They're not real cels. They've just made the images to look like cels.

Does that mean these are nothing but photoshops? Or was it drawn with a cintiq then printed on a cel?

I don't really know. I think they might have printed a couple of cels to use as props for their presentation at Annecy in order to trick the audience into believing this was an old short.

And then they're turning from that to CGI...that's gonna be interesting.
