Well it says on the site it won't ship until the 7th but however its entered the stage where I can't cance and just re-order on the 7th.and my credit card has been charged.........but It might ship and be to my assigned secret santa next week....again sorry for jumping the gun....I forgot we were not suppose to order until the 7th.....ideally

And then I rememebred I am suppose to travel sometime this month at a moments notice for an oppurtunity....so I have no specific date but except december...don't ask me what it's about....I am sworn to secrecy.....but I am sure you all will learn when the time is right to know what my oppurtunity is about...

Don't worry, disneyboy, it's better to send a gift early than to send a gift late! :)

I sent out my present. I hope it arrives safe and sound. This is the first time I sent out a present via Amazon, so I hope no issue arises and that my Cindy Lou Who receives it quickly :) .

Dear Secret Cindy Lou Who:

I just ordered your gift, so look for it in your mailbox in the coming weeks. I will also send out a card ASAP.

I already sent my gift out. Don't expect it until after Christmas. About January 6th, at least.

Gifts are supposed to be received before Christmas.

If you already ordered your gift, why on earth is it going to take more than a month to send?

International Shipping Rates. I'm sorry. I suppose I can up it, but it's already costing an extra $8, and my wallet's a little thin.

I guess I know who isn't my Secret Santa. :P

Though, just throwing this out there, I had Dottie for Secret Santa last year and she lives in Germany. She got my package a week and a half after it was sent. So it probably won't take as long as the shipping estimate says.

ETA:

I normally have this tradition as my first post in the send/receive thread, but totally forgot about it this year. So I'm gonna retroactively shoehorn it into this post, and there's nothing anyone can do about it! Nyah Nyah!

I went to my mailbox today, because today is a Monday and that's usually when the mail comes on since there is no mail on Sunday. And I got...

BILLS! Bills, bills, bills! Higher electric bills because we put up our Christmas lights, higher college tuition bills because I'm going to a different school, lower credit card bills because there's less money coming in than should be going out, and as always, I've got those pesky long-distance phone bills to Prague. You'd think one day I'd just give in and move there, but there's all that paperwork and visas and other stuff. So I might as well live vicariously through expensive phone calls! Oh well, there's always tomorrow to hope for the Secret Santa package.

I'm just saying that you shouldn't have to tell your SCLW that it'll be more than a month before they get the gift simply because that's what the shipping estimate says. Especially since it's now established that it's being sent to either Puerto Rico, the UK, or Malta.

How can you "up" it if it's already been sent? And Escapay is right, there was no point in revealing where you're sending to (even in vague terms). :headshake: And everyone participating is celebrating Christmas, so even if your estimate is cautious, there was no absolutely no reason to choose a method that could take that long.

In my case, Amazon told me that the shipping estimate would be sometime on Friday, but I just received an e-mail saying its been shipped.

Estimates are meant to give you an idea of how long something is going to take, but isn't THE concrete confirmation. It may happen sooner, or may take more time. It depends on how fast the service is or if there are any issues such as place, time of order and such.

Oh as an FYI, Puerto Rico is a US protectorate, so it isn't an international destination. All USPS rates are the same here as in the US. And the gift DEFINITELY won't take a month to arrive.

It's not sent technically. I ordered it. It'll probably be sent tomorrow.

Anyway, I'll go with the more expensive shipping.
