I think it's a so-so list. Some movies should have been higher (such as Snow White and Toy Story), Some should have been lower (Such as the Lion King) and some did not belong on the list at all (like Horton Hears a Who).

Finding Nemo is good film, but not worthy of the top spot though.

That list is yucky.

Firstly, throw as many tomatoes as you want at me, but I stand by the fact that Finding Nemo is Pixar's blandest and most graceless film. How it got all those accolades still baffles me. In all fairness, I think Brother Bear is a superior film, and I'd rather that would have won the Academy Award, but oh well...

Secondly, Shrek gets 4th place and Disney masterpieces like Bambi get 30th? Not to mention that Pinocchio, Fantasia and Dumbo do not even make the list. I feel like barfing.

I honestly don't know what's more disgusting:

1. The atrocity that made #1.

2. Uninspired sh!t like Enchanted made it anywhere near list with a 25-yard pole while they give the shaft to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the most important film for modern animation.

3. The fact true masterpieces like Pinocchio and Fantasia weren't memorable to these losers while the Dreck series is(or anything made in the past 3 years or so for that matter).

4. Cinderella AND Sleeping Beauty made the list. Having one of them is too much.

You can't help but loose faith in humanity with occurrences like this happen. Hopefully, AFI can restore such debacles.

Are you surprised Akhenaten? Really , you should know by now that Pocahontas is a 'cult' movie with a base of devoted fans but it does not enjoy general popularity.

Which really isn't such a bad thing!

That's a pretty bad list...
And in the case of Enchanted, the audience must not have noticed that there's about 5 minutes of animation...

AFI will be releasing a list of the 10 greatest American animated films; just about all of the Disney Animated Classics, with the exception of the package features, are among the films nominated - here's hoping Snow White, Pinocchio or Fantasia makes number 1!

The results will be revealed on June 17, for those who live in the US.

There's your reason why this list sucks. No need to get worked up over random user ratings, which were mostly from kids anyway.

Incidentally, AOL recently did a list of their picks for the top 25 animated films: http://movies.aol.com/movie-photo/best-animated-movies

I disagree with some of the choices, but it's at least more accurate than the Yahoo users list.

Finding Nemo is my favorite Pixar movie and I really love but it's not the greatest animation movie.
Why The Little Mermaid,Sleeping Beauty,The Nightmare Before Christmas,Enchanted and Cinderella on such low places? this sucks!!! Lilo and Stitch should be insted of Simpons Movie,Alice In Wonderland should be insted of Ice Age 2 and Pocahontas insted of Horton Hears A Who.
Pinocchio shouldn't be there,it's one of the boringest films .

Disney and Pixar aren't the only animation studios in the world. What about "The Last Unicorn", "The Iron Giant", "My Neighbor Totoro", "Castle in the Sky", "Anastasia", "Belleville rendez-vous", "Balto", "The Cat Returns", "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm", "Antz", ....?

And including "Cars" on the list and excluding "Bug's Life" is just plain wrong.

None of those films are in that low places at all, they're all fairly high. But since you asked for it...

Because The Little Mermaid is a film where all the characters are obnoxious to the point you wish Ursula won or that they had followed the original ending? Because Sleeping Beauty is a pretty picture with one of the blandest "good v.s. evil" narrative in history. Because Enchanted is pile of over-hyped crap that just borrowed every little detial from movies made dozens of times? Because Cinderella...well, nothing happens in Cinderella that is able to keep up with a normal human's attention span?

Pinocchio definitely should have been in the top 3, if not #1. And I agree that Pocahontas should have been high up on the list too, who cares though really, because the people who voted are obviously idiots who cant tell live action(Enchanted) from animation!

Excuse me? Enchanted IS animated, and so is Roger Rabbit,so what if it's also half live action? it's both animated AND live action.

Speaking for myself, the films on that list should have been mostly, if not totally, animated.
