Does anyone know if this will be playing At Disney World? Assuming they have their own movie theatre like in Disney Paris.

And / or if it will be playing around Halloween?

I would check the AMC website for the Downtown Disney location but the run is extremely limited AND the BluRay is coming out next week so no. I expect the film is going to pulled out of theaters by this weekend.

Target's release week pricing was posted over at Blu-ray.com:

$29.99 4-disc combo pack (3D)
$22.99 2-disc combo pack

There is also a note to visit target.com/disneycoupon for a $5 off coupon. I'm not sure if this is a Target exclusive coupon or this is the manufacturer's (DMR) coupon. Either way, that Target link will probably not be live until this Sunday.

Hopefully Best Buy and/or Toys R Us pricing is a little better.

Thanks. Hoping for a better price at Best Buy/Toys R Us. The $5 coupon will probably be the same as the DMR one.

I wonder why the coupon is only good on the 3D combo. Subway has one that works on both combo packs, but you have to buy a kid's meal to get the coupon.

You wouldn't be able to use both coupons, would you? I would love to be able to pick up the 3D combo for less that $25, especially since I don't own a 3DTV or player (yet, that is.).

Probably want be able too, since both will be manufactures coupons.

However if the $5 one ends up being a Target coupon it should count as a store coupon, so the Subway one could also be used.

I just read the fine print. It is available in Canada too! That's gonna be one kids meal to go forme if the DMR coupon is 3D only.

Disney, you are getting cheap. Bring back the $10 off coupons! I say give us this structure:
$10 off for 3D
$5 off for non-3D
$10 off for DVD to Blu upgrade.

I'm tempted to go with the normal combo pack, and Subway coupon too.

I was hoping there would be an upgrade coupon for this, but I guess not.

Interview: Tony Bancroft, Pumbaa's Supervising Animator on The Lion King
http://www.dvdizzy.com/tonybancroft-interview.html
Q: You directed Mulan in 1998 along with Barry Cook. Any interest in directing more animated features?

A: Yes, I have developed several films since Mulan that for whatever reason have not made it to the screen yet. I am currently directing a new CG feature right now that I am excited about. I can't tell you anything about it yet...but soon...very soon.

Interesting enough, Barry Cook was a director on Aardman's upcoming Arthur Christmas for a while, but it appears he has now dropped out for reasons known only to the studio.

Hopefully, the price on the non-3D combo WILL be $22.99, AND that I can print off the stupid coupon this time.

Cheap? They are giving you a discount  Here in Australia I'll be paying $30AUD for my TLK blu, which will be lacking second screen AND Disney Vault. No discounts at all over here.

It seems Disney forgot to put the clouds back in this scene:

The Lion King Platinum Edition DVD
The Lion King Diamond Edition Blu-ray

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/J9in0nKScmY" frameborder="0"></iframe>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZNotmB1bBAY" frameborder="0"></iframe>

I wonder if they'll issue an exchange program correcting this or if it will be like the transition in Beauty and the Beast (where the theatrical version erroneously used the special edition transition) and remain unresolved? It definitely looks awkward now with the empty sky.

BTW, can anyone tell me whether we're getting the blue castle logo?

No, the film opens with the new CGI Walt Disney Pictures intro and music, immediately followed by the words "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" before "Circle of Life" begins. The animal/savannah sounds that accompanied the original logo are cut short due to this, sadly.

@jpanimation: Both of those videos have the clouds. I don't know how much of this accusation I can trust..

What are you talking about? In the second one (the one currently in cinemas) Simba is running towards nothing. There are no clouds reassembling themselves, just the night sky.

I understand if that part would somehow not work in 3D, but they need to put it back in for the DVD/BD release. The redrawn crocs were bad enough so enough with the nonsense and changes.

I was very dissapointed by that fact when I got my copy too (it was released earlier here in Norway, no kidding!). I'm so tired of the current Disney Castle logo. Ever heard of some variety??

What a gross mistake. Why does Disney keep making changes and messing up their films?
