Re: Toy Story 4
OK but I doubt anyone would be spoiled by that since there were a lot of theories and predictions posted here.
Re: Toy Story 4
I'm not surprised but the ending, disappointed, but not surprised. Won't this spoil their synergy with the parks if Woody isn't part of the gang any more ? Toy Story Playland could be reconned I suppose.

Re: Toy Story 4
So, I presume that Woody does stay behind with Bo and leaves Buzz behind? Because I hate that idea already.
I agree. I mean, deep down, I know the ending must have been true. But, it would have been fun to be surprise to see if it wasn't.Patricier21 wrote:You could at least not mention something like "our predictions were true" because then its still spoils without highlighting the bar for those who perhaps read your predictions/followed & read this forum earlier.

Re: Toy Story 4
The Toy Story Land which opened last year at Hollywood Studios in Florida is already themed as Andy’s backyard— not Bonnie’s, so this film won’t affect it. The Disney parks are such a strange Frankenstein of continuity. Why is Ariel a mermaid? Why is the Beast a Beast?Atlantica wrote:I'm not surprised but the ending, disappointed, but not surprised. I’m sure the ending will be very sad in the movie, but barring Tom Hanks opting out of a 5th one, I don’t see any way they aren’t eventually reunited in a subsequent film.

Re: Toy Story 4
I'm one of those people who likes spoilers. While I don't always seek them out, the nature of theorizing involves some possibility that you may be correct and figuring out if you are or not. (Imagine how many theories were spreading out for Avengers and how many people may have been right about one plot point or another.) I like guessing about things and movie details are a part of it.
Plus I'm of the mindset that you can know what happens in a movie but not necessarily how (good or bad) it is portrayed.
Then there's the idea that stories are not unique entities but rather interconnected to previous stories, experiences, historical situations, etc. I think only really young children can get a "fresh" impression, be it from watching Toy Story 4 or Norm of the North. After a point we've seen it all before; it then becomes a test if the story told it in a new way or entertaining manner to make us forget we saw it before.
But all this to say, it's Toy Story 4. I kinda wonder if old school fans will be angry at this movie for one reason or another. (I know I'm personally still miffed at what they did to Bo... I could write a better fanfic than what they seemingly did to her character.)

It seems there'll be a final trailer for the movie after all, and according to TrailerTrack.com, it'll be released next week.

Very peculiar:
https://www.laughingplace.com/w/article ... tory-film/
Ed Catmull once expressed a wish to reduce the team working on a movie to just hundred or so, to make the process more streamlined. Looks like it's not going to happen in the nearest future.
Also; the number of render cores have increased from 4000 in Toy Story 3 to 55,000 in this one. When the day comes that Pixar will use 300,000 render cores in a movie, then we are talking about literally more than thousand times the number used in the first Toy Story. Then again, Ed Catmull (I think) said it was the worst movie they would ever make visually speaking, due to all the technological limitations and modest computer power in those days.

So Pixar have no more than 475 employees at the moment? Back in 2011 that number was about 1200. Perhaps they are actually referring to the number that's working on the movie, even if that's not exactly what the text says?Pixar had a total of 129 employees when the first Toy Story film was made and only 294 render cores. By Toy Story 2, the studio had grown to 325 employees and the render core volume increased to 672. Jump forward eleven years to Toy Story 3 and you’re looking at a studio of 400 employees with 4,000 render cores. How does Toy Story 4 measure up? The studio is currently at 475 employees and the film is being rendered across 55,000 cores, a distance that surely feels like “Lightyears.”

Re: Toy Story 4
Yeah, I think they meant working on the movie, not pixar as a whole.
Or they could be excluding the people who work for them but not actively working on projects. Maybe they only get used when they need a very specific simulated effect.

Here's the final trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl9JS8-gnWQ
Re: Toy Story 4
I didn't care for the trailer. I expect the film to have a generic advanture with one or two emotional scenes just like the third one was.

Re: Toy Story 4
That's exactly how it's going to go. There's the goodbye scene at the beginning betwen Bo and Woody, Gabby Gabby's sad backstory and her finally getting her own kid, and the farewell scene at the end between Woody and Buzz. Of course, a lot of people will love it because of that. Personally, I'm tired of the same formula. They were stretching it with the third one as is.farerb wrote:I didn't care for the trailer. They did one with Woody as well. It's a smart marketing campaign.Kyle wrote:https://i.redd.it/iznhrtzadkz21.jpg

Probably. Just wish they could be more spesific about it. It's not good journalism to be sloppy about the numbers.Kyle wrote:Yeah, I think they meant working on the movie, not pixar as a whole.

I saw another (longer) trailer for this earlier than the first one, and I was struck by how good the movie looks (as far the graphics).

Re: Toy Story 4
I have been avoiding trailers but couldn't help but watch it seeing Aladdin. DO THEY HAVE TO RESCUE A LOST TOY AGAIN? Jeez after all this time you'd think the toys would have implemented safety measures.
