I bought The Lion King 1 and 1/2 and Brother Bear, but I haven't watched them yet. I've been busy learning stuff for school.

I had just bought it yesterday, and i saw the short "one by one", but i really didn't understand it, can someone explain it to me??

There was supposed to be a third installment to the Fantasia series that never got off the ground. One by One was one of those shorts that wouldve been in that third film.

One by One is a 6 minute version of a song written and performed by Lebo M and his African choir for "Rhythm of the Pridelands", a special collection of Lebo M and African inspired songs from The Lion King

It's a damn good album (go get it!) but it seriously bothers me how almost of it gets used for other projects (Lion King 2, LK 1/2, the Broadway show and now this.

When they say "from the makers of the Lion King" I think theyre just referring to Lebo M, and possibly Zimmer and Mancini. Not really the makers, just musicians.

But you know its all African so why not add that to this DVD?

I noticed while watching One by One, that it wouldnt have done well as a Fantasia sequence. The music/vocals do not stay n'sync with the movement and the flow of whatever the hell is goin on

I'm still waiting for my copy of Simba's Pride with the lithograph. It's might be in a UPS warehouse.

My brother asked Disneystore.com to ship the DVD to his house, not mine. lol. He got the package on Friday but didn't have a chance to drop it off at my house.

Once I get the DVD I can watch the romantic scenes on my widescreen TV.

Thanks for sharing your opinon about the "One by One" short. I'll check it out after I watch Kuvo and Kiara together. hehe

And can anyone check the exact lenght of the region 1 making of? The region 4 is 10 minutes and 4 seconds long.

6 minutes and 46 seconds.

So the american version is edited!?.... not nescessarily.

I watched both versions of finding nemo (region 1 and region 4) and some features like that tour in the pixar studios, have some more seconds in the region 4 release, but it is because they used diferent scenes for the same feature! (in another words: a cut/editing doesn't exists! the features that have some diferent images in each region release)

Very strange....

I finally saw the movie. for some reason it looked very different from the limited edition DVD. has anyone noticed that is very overly enhanced and bright at times? anyways i need to look at disc 2. so far so good..............

it seems at though it's less glazed and more obviously tv animated like

I had not seen this movie since my family rented it on VHS all those years ago. I really appreciated the film more this time around. Some possible reasons are a widescreen presentation, a darkened room, the video quality of DVD, viewing it as Kiara and Kovu's story, and lowered expectations.

As far as extras go, I wish there were more substantial features, but I understand that it was an economic decision to market this toward the younger children rather than all ages. My biggest disappointment was the virtual safari. The safaris on 1 and 1.5 were clever satires of theme parks and their attractions, but this safari relied too much on physical comedy, so it felt like a Roger Rabbit short to me.

I am happy with this release for the movie itself, but I will not spend much time with the bonus features ever again.

It seems that almost everyone enjoyed Simba's Pride, but not the extras. I still haven't had a chance to watch the movie.

Remember, Kiara isn't just a princess.

I havent posted in this topic so here I go. I think the transfer for a sequal this movies in particular was fantastic the colors were great and loved it. It was vibrant and bright and that is always appealing to me. Also the short one by one was great. SO there it is my short opinion on the movie it lookg great. Notr much to say about the extras since not much was there. but I am not complaining.

I've only seen a few of the DVDs I got once. The only I have seen on my Pirates of the Carribean DVD is the Disneyland segment but that is all. I havent seen the full movie on that DVD yet.

Actually it's not just the musicians. Look at the credits for TLK and the credits for One by One. There's several names shared by each. The two that come immediately to mind are Don Hahn and Tony Bancroft.
