Pirates Of The Carribean

Post by Papa Bear »

I went and Holes as last night was completely blown out the water when I saw the new preview for the Upcoming Pirates of the Carribean movie I have been intrigued by previous trailers for it but this one made up my mind that this could very well be the best movie out this summer. I think it will definatley put disney at the top of the Box Office.

Although I thought the preview for 'Pirates' that I saw was very cool (and I think I will go and see it), I have to laugh now every time I see the poster for that or Haunted Mansion.
Are Disney going to make a film out of every attraction at Disneyland?
First 'Country Bears' (which went direct to video/DVD here in Australia), 'Pirates' (which does look kinda cool) and now 'Haunted Mansion' (which I have heard little about).
I know! I know!
Coming soon...

Don't let they put you off Loomis, Country Bears is a great movie (especially if like me you like Country music).

Is the DVD Widescreen in Australia? I may pick it up cheap if it is, even though I have the (fullscreen) R1 release.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I'm not too sure of the specs. I had a look on the main retail sites and it wasn't there.
I've just discovered from the bvhe.com.au site that it was rental only from 30th April (but it is already available in some shops). Haven't actually watched it yet, but I was aware of it being direct-to-video from various magazine reviews.
If I find out more on the specs, and when it will be released for retail, I'll let you know.
Might give it a rent myself over the next lazy week (off from uni and all that)...

Well, it is 12 years later and do you people still think it holds up pretty well?

I used to be an Elizabeth Swann fan...then I saw Keira Knightley's disgusting comments on the classic princesses. Shame on her. I will pray that she finds absolution for her misdeeds....she can earn it by giving me her wedding dress.

I heard that the other films are planned as well.

Interesting how they are only Keeping Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush‘s names on top as opposed to also including Orlando bloom and Keira Knightley like all other DVD/Blu-ray/VHS and poster credits. Especially given The situation with Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush’s previous sexual allegations even though they were cleared up

I decided to rewatch the Pirate movies this week (I actually watched the fifth one for the first time), the first one is an excellent movie, 2-3 are passable but not as entertaining, 4-5 are just unwatchable, I really had to put an effort to get through them, they are just so boring. I'm actually surprised that people want more movies made. Moreover, I'm surprised they want Johnny Depp back because he really phoned it in in the last two, and they really have no idea what to do with the character anymore.
