You're welcome! I have more notes to share from what I read yesterday, and I haven't finished reading it, so more to come.

It certainly could have been, and we did consider it, but for a film that embraces our past and our future, it couldn't solely be hand drawn. The question became, How do we achieve something that pays homage to both? That was our challenge to the team." - Chris Buck

"We've had films that started out with a goal of doing something different stylistically, but for various reasons would evolve back to our [photorealistic] CG aesthetic. It was so important for this one to push through. I think the challenge itself, the fact that this had never been done at the studio, is what attracted everybody." - Peter Del Vecho

"In the time I've been at the studio, I've talked to so many artists, and they've always wanted to push the look of our films. So when I heard this film was going to do it, I knew everyone was going to be very excited about it." - Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster Jones

Sotiris wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 1:58 pm I don't see the similarity to "Snuff Out the Light". That one was more theatrical, grander in scale, with a more cabaret sound. This one is much smaller in scope and has a very mid-'00s pop sound. Its sound is reminiscent of songs you would find in Disney Channel Original Movies. However, I do see the similarity to "You're Welcome", but not in terms of melody or sound. The rapping at the beginning and the "hook" of the song—the frequent repetition of the phrase 'this is the thanks I get'— makes believe the songwriters were trying to imitate LMM's style to a degree.
I agree with you. I don't hear SOtL, which I loved. It's a better version of "You're Welcome" mixed with "Shiny." I like it in a way, but I thought Magnifico would be more like Jafar, tbh. He's like a sillier Gaston going by the song.
Marce82 wrote: Why does it feel like the songs have zero structure?
I don't hate the songs, but the weakest part for me is that the chorus of both it and "This Wish" repeat one line over and over. That's not surprising though considering the composer is a pop artist.

My costume of Star from Disney’s Wish, for this coming Halloween Tuesday, is complete, guys. I can’t wait for you all to see it.

I hope you all like it or are impressed by the effort I put into it when you see it.

Especially as no one’s attempted to make this costume until now when I have been the first to do it. And I say that because there are no official costumes of Star yet.

That trailer is much more better because it clearly shows why King Magnifico is “evil” (i.e. Asha telling her friends or Star the reason why they need to stop him) and I noticed that Asha says “We need to give back the wishes”, which is full confirmation that Asha doesn’t want to grant every wish in the kingdom, which is what everyone was thinking when they saw the official trailer last month, but instead give them back to the people. Really👏glad👏that’s👏all👏cleared👏up!

That, and it doesn’t have a butt joke in it :P the joke they put in with Valentino is miles better than that.

Ok, so there is one person on twitter who read the novelization of the movie and I asked several questions about Magnico's past, his relationship with Amaya, and so on. This is obviously major spoiler, but if you don't mind spoilers, then the twitter thread will give you more insight on the movie.

Just like Frozen's "For The First Time in Forever" trailer, it's the one that treats it a bit seriously and showcases the music in a way.

Good thing Disney smartly made that the final domestic trailer. Let’s hope it helps Wish be a hit, last-minute, like it helped Frozen last-minute, along with those early screenings on the weekend before its release.

#HappyHalloween from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ newest mascot character, #Star #TheWishingStar of Disney’s newest animated feature film called #Wish, arriving only in theaters November 22nd.Image

What do you guys think of the first attempt at a costume of Star The Wishing Star by me?

No one believed I could pull it off. But I never gave the doubters any attention. And I think I actually pulled it off very nicely, with all things considered.

Picture of Star for reference in the comments below. 👇

Not liking Welcome to Rosas very much. It sounds too generic and something that could`ve come from a Disney Junior property.
