I don't think it's as much a matter of era as much as like the rest of the world, the Disney films he's most familiar with are the Walt ones, the Big Four from the 90s, and then Frozen. Those are the films most deeply inserted into the public consciousness and what everyone has either seen or heard of.

Thanks for that link. :)

Wow Amy! All of those pictures were amazing! I liked Rapunzel's the best! She looked so real!

I would want a CGI movie where the humans look more like those from Pocahontas, Mulan. More realistic sized eyes. Every CGI movie has those giant cartoony eyes style, it is starting to get boring.

The reason for the bigger. cartoony eyes is to avoid the uncanny valley, so CGI movies with more realistic eyes could be problematic in that way.

The Pixar characters have smaller eyes and they look fine.

Even Barbie in her CGI movies and Odette in CGI Swan princess movies have more normal sized eyes than any CGI Disney princess.

Twitter is going to feature an older, more "woke" crowd. Look at children who are Disney's main demographic and I guarantee you that Ariel and Belle will win any day of the week over Mulan and Moana. Also just look at the box office numbers for Ariel and Belle's films compared to those of these newer "princesses."

I would like to see more princesses with smaller eyes like Pocahontas as well. I hate the bug-eyed CGI pattern that Rapunzel started. The Barbie films did an amazing job depicting beautiful heroines with normal-sized eyes.

Finally non-princesses are getting dolls at the Disney Store! I've so psyched for Esmeralda, Alice, and Wendy especially. This is the first time the Disney Store has ever made a Wendy doll.

I had sold my Disney Barbie collection & have no $ regardless, but those look AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Tink's bangs are just kind of hanging there, it's a little weird, but besides that they look so good. I wonder if Esmeralda has her earring in; can't see it in the photo.

OMGosh that is amazing!!!!!! Yes, like Amy said, Tinker Bell doesn't look quite like herself (her bangs and her dress) but there's gonna be a Meg and Esmeralda! A Meg and Esmeralda!!!!

3 Ink & Paint
1 Xerox
4 CAPS
1 Toon Boom
-----
9 Hand Drawn

5 CGI
After 2021 we'll have 7 CGI and soon we'll have more CGI princesses than Hand Drawn ones.

Tinkerbell doll looks like to be based on the CGI Tinkerbell movies.

Must be. I think Disney girls have such epic bangs, it's hard to translate them to dolls!

 Tink and Wendy are the same size. Kids acting out the movie with their dolls might make it more violent...

That's so awesome!

I'm glad to see actual modern kids still like these characters even if they aren't heavily marketed by Disney.

I don't like the modern clothes some of the characters are wearing (like the guys) but otherwise I think this is pretty creative.

I went to the Disney Store last week and bough a few of those dolls! I got Wendy and Alice and two Megs. I already have the designer Meg doll but I can never have enough Meg! I wanted Esmeralda too but they didn't have her for some reason. I'll probably get Tink later too. I wish they had given her bangs that looked more like the ones in the movie. And I wish Meg had her curls. Also could do without all the glitter on the outfits.
