The first retail exclusive for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has been formally announced. Target will offer exclusive bonus video content as well as different package art for the first two movies, but this time they won’t be offering any exclusive bonus features. However, they will have exclusive packaging that is similar to the first two releases from Borders and like Borders’ Twilight release, Eclipse will also have bonus photo cards of various movie scenes.

The Midnight Sun novel is being released on August 4th!!!! I am sooooo excited!!!!! (New Twilight and new Hunger Games books in the same year!!!!! Wwwooooohhhhoooooooooo!!!!!)

For those who don't know, "Midnight Sun" is the first book told from Edward's point of view, but it was partially leaked years ago, Stephenie Meyer put some of the story on her website, and we never knew if it'd actually be published!

I'm a major Twilight fan and so not ashamed of it so I'm super psyched for this release! Glad to see others here are as well! This book has been so loooong overdue.

My mother inexplicably loved Twilight although she was not in the age group it was aimed at. I might buy the new book for her birthday.

Disney Duster: It's extremely cool! :p

JeanGrey: Team Edward or Jacob?!

Disney's Divinity: I think getting the book for your mom's bday would be PERFECT!! And Twi-Moms are a thing- I remember during the craze reading articles (an article?) about obsessive moms. Not that your mom is obsessive (or is she?!). [And I see what songs you're listening to! I don't remember what thread we were in, but if you remember and want to share your thoughts on them, that'd be cool. If not, no worries! :)]

Team Edward easily. I only briefly switched the first time I read New Moon because I did not appreciate how Edward dumped her for all those months and the pain he caused. I agree with Jacob that if Alice hadn't come back right then and there, Jacob and Bella probably could have been very happy together, but when Edward did come back into Bella's life, Jacob turned me off with his controlling nature. My friends at the time felt the same way.

I've always been Team Jacob, because of what Edward did to Bella (I know his intentions were good...).

New Moon has always been my least favorite of the books because of how emotionally exhausting it was to live through Bella's ordeal because of what Edward did to her.

See, and I really like New Moon due to the emotional ride we go on, and it was great spending more time with Jacob, who doesn't obviously play a huge part in Book 1.

New Moon was too painful for me even when I first read it as a pre-teen and having lived something like that myself in recent years, I can completely empathize with Bella's situation so it's difficult to relive that.

I can see why Jacob fans would prefer this book though. Although I think it's less messy when he doesn't get involved like in that genderbent version of Twlight (Life and Death) that Stephanie Meyer wrote.

^ Yes, Life + Death was an "idealised" + more streamlined story...I prefer the excitement, the build up that we get book by book, if that makes sense.

Wasn't the original plan only for two books? I read somewhere that Breaking Dawn was supposed to be the second book so there was no love triangle with Jacob (and possibly not any werewolves either) and Bella would become a vampire and pregnant right after the first book.

I don't know...I guess I don't know much about the making of the books, but now I'm interested in reading more on that...

I think I read online that she only decided to hold off on the pregnancy and Bella's vampire transformation because the first book was such a success so her publishers wanted her to write more books.
