Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
The intriguing photo to me is the one that looks like Phillip (?) in a spooky-looking laboratory of sorts experimenting on fairies. We saw a glimpse of this location in the first trailer with the guy with the eye patch. I find showing what appears to be Phillip in this location interesting...

Out of all those costume sketches, I think only the butterfly one and second pink one on Aurora look good in sketch form. I hope all the costumes look better in the film.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
I like the second one. The first one makes me think of that episode of Ugly Betty when Wilhelmina's baby is born on the catwalk, and the designer who was obsessed with misery and pain.

It looks similar to the way feathers are used in this picture you posted some time ago.Sotiris wrote:This image from a doll package uses Maleficent from the teaser poster but with feathers on her back.
I like both posters. Curiously, feathers are quite prominent in them too. I wonder if they'll have some importance in the story, or if it's just a stylistic choice.Sotiris wrote:Exhibitor-exclusive posters.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
The "special look" left me cold. There was nothing really new or exciting about it. Anyway, the featured song for the sequel is "You Can't Stop the Girl" by Bebe Rexha which will be released on Friday.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Apparently the run-time according to this website is hour and 58 minutes long. It's a bit more longer than the first movie which should be a good sign that the pacing is balanced, or not we'll see.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
The song "You Can't Stop the Girl" by Bebe Rexha is out. I don't think a girl power pop song fits the movie. Something more eerie and atmospheric would have been more appropriate. Even something more rock and edgy would have been better. They should have just released the full version of Molly's "Season of the Witch" that was used in the teaser or a cover of "I Wonder" to match the first movie's "Once Upon a Dream" rendition.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
I feel like "Once Upon a Dream" for the first film was the exception and not the rule when it comes to pop songs attached to these live action films. Both Alice and Wonderland movies had weirdly disconnected pop songs (the first by Avril Lavigne and the second by Pink) over their trailers. This seems more in line with that, and not the cool cover we got for the first one.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
I’ll listen to the song later, but I definitely think a version of “I Wonder” would’ve made sense. Not just because “OUAD” was the ending for the first, but even the lyrics to “I Wonder” kind of suit the sequels. Both Aurora conflict with Maleficent because she loves Phillip, and Maleficent’s loneliness as the only one of her kind (only to find out that’s not so).
