Following the massive financial success of Disney’s most recent reboots, the studio is planning on cranking out plenty more over the coming years. According to our sources one of these projects will reportedly be The Great Mouse Detective. The mice will still be animated, apparently, while everything else will be live action, much like The Lion King and the upcoming planned Chip ‘n’ Dale feature. Details are still largely unknown about this remake as of right now, but it’s likely that big names will be brought onboard to anchor the cast.
Yeah, this sounds about as plausible as the live-action remakes of Pocahontas, Atlantis, and Treasure Planet.
We’re a dyad in the Force. Two that are one. "I offered you my hand once. You wanted to take it." - Kylo Ren "I did want to take your hand. Ben's hand." - Rey
Now this is just a joke. Someone's clearly mocking Disney's remake frenzy.
Listening to most often lately:
Ariana Grande ~ "we can't be friends (wait for your love)"
Ariana Grande ~ "imperfect for you"
Kacey Musgraves ~ "The Architect"
Yeah, they're just announcing remakes to all the Disney classics that haven't one confirmed yet, each more unlikely than the last. Next time they'll announce that a Home on the Range remake is in the works.
Actually I wouldn't mind if it was true, even if they would have to make the characters more cartoony and anthropomorphic than the animals in Lion King (someone found them to look too real: https://www.instagram.com/ellejart/?hl=nb)
But it is clear that whoever made the fake news don't know much about the latest Lion King movie. As most are probably aware of by now, only a single shot was live action. Everything else was made on computers, not just the animals.
Of course a "live action" remake of The Great Mouse Detective would have to be made in the same way, in a completely virtual environment. Because of the small scale of the characters and the time period it would probably be harder and more expensive to use physical sets instead of digital ones.
