I wonder if his character will end up being a love interest for Maleficent.

I wonder if these magical beings like Maleficent are going to be revealed as having some kind of spiritual origin. They're basically a combo of devil and angel.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
My guess is the Chiwetel Ejiofor character could be her love interest, and Ed Skrein will be a villain. Both of those were hinted at in their casting announcements. I’m wondering where Phillip will end up in this story. Obviously it’s his mom vs. his “mother in law” and I wonder if he’ll be a villain by the end of it. He’s featured on the poster and not Diaval, so it makes me think he has a significant role to play.Disney's Divinity wrote:I wonder if his character will end up being a love interest for Maleficent.

That's true, either Ejiofor or Skrein could be a love interest--or neither could be--since they've both regularly played villains in other films.lord-of-sith wrote: My guess is the Chiwetel Ejiofor character could be her love interest, and Ed Skrein will be a villain. The new poster is not bad, though it looks a little disturbing to me.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Something random: Lana Del Rey recorded a version of the song 'Season of the Witch'. When I read the article, I thought for sure it was going to be for this film but it's for a horror flick, scary stories to tell in the dark.
You may remember season of the witch was used in the teaser for Maleficent II, by Audiomachine ft Molly.
This is the trailer for that film with the Lana version of the song.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
I was just going to post about the song ! How absolutely odd that they used that version for Maleficent and Lana does it for 'Scary Stories' ... ! Shame that they couldn't get Lana back for the sequel as she would have been amazing, as always. Though her version of it wouldn't suit Maleficent at all.
Love the new poster too.

Source: https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertai ... 990187001/The sequel to Disney’s 2014 live-action reimagining of “Sleeping Beauty” continues the mother-daughter relationship between winged fairy Maleficent (Jolie) and Aurora (Fanning). A rift occurs, though, when Aurora gets engaged to Prince Phillip (Harris Dickinson) and Maleficent tiptoes a bit back to the dark side when she squares off with Phillip’s villainous mom, Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer). “Aurora is basically moving out. That's something I and a lot of parents can relate to,” says Ronning, adding that Pfeiffer is one of the few people who can “hold their own” against Jolie, “especially when she puts on the horns.”

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Can I just ask a question for all of you Maleficent fans... are her horns like a hat that she can just take off? And does Aurora have no mom in these movies?
(My husband's a fan of the first movie, but I never made it all the way through...)
Thank you!!! Pink elephants for you in advance.

In this iteration, Maleficent's horns are a part of her body, something that she has at all time.blackcauldron85 wrote:Can I just ask a question for all of you Maleficent fans... are her horns like a hat that she can just take off? And does Aurora have no mom in these movies?
Aurora's mother is a minor character in the first film. She is introduced as the daughter of King Henry (who gives the crown to Stefan after he seems to have killed Maleficent), and is seen in the christening scene. She has a few lines (still more than her animated counterpart) but dies in the 16 year period of the curse. Stefan is shown to not really care that she is dying, as he is obsessed with getting revenge on Maleficent.

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
^^ Thank you very much! About the horns, I was confused because of the quote Sotiris posted (“Aurora is basically moving out. That's something I and a lot of parents can relate to,” says Ronning, adding that Pfeiffer is one of the few people who can “hold their own” against Jolie, “especially when she puts on the horns.”) but I think it just meant Angelina-as-Maleficent...and about Aurora's mom- that makes sense, then, why Maleficent would be a mother figure to her.
I appreciate it!!!

Re: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
I really liked the new trailer and it just might be better than the first one, I mean the Maleficent vs Ingrith plot and the actors they cast is more than enough to get me to see it opening weekend.

I actually like this poster, mainly the middle portion with Aurora.

I understand why Maleficent is larger than the other figures, but it throws the balance off.

I has been revealed at D23 that Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Maleficent's brother, so if she has a love interest in the movie, it has to be Ed Skrein's character.Disney's Divinity wrote:I wonder if his character will end up being a love interest for Maleficent.
