The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Really? The Wizard of Oz gets the 4K treatment? That's super exciting.
Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Wonder when we'll get the press release, to see all the bonus features included with this one.

Yeah you would think we would have the cover art, release date, and press release by now. I mean officially, not leaked.

They're really taking their time with the announcement for this one, don't they?

Isn't this coming out in less than a month (early June)? Should have gotten more info by now.

The Cinderella sequels will be a DMC Exclusive. God, that cover is awful. She looks positively moronic.

I was hoping they were taking their time to re-draw the covers...
I like the composition of the first film except for the sideways title and like the composition of the sequels, but the drawing...

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
I like the sequels cover, but her face is kinda weird. She’s drawn much better on the original’s cover.
Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Oh man, that cover looks kinda tragic...
I still don’t get the pink either, I’m not convinced that’s a colour appropriate for the film ?

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
That artwork is awful, and the background colors for II and III should be switched since Dreams Come True consistently used blue in all of its home video artwork and A Twist In Time was given that purpleish color.
With Disney's consistent lack of effort on their home media releases, and the launch of Disney+ in a few months, I'm finding it difficult to justify double (and in most cases, triple) dipping on future home media releases from them.

Pink is the color of the stairs and curtains the covers are making use of. The original film often uses blue accented with pink. Cinderella's mother's dress, the fairy godmother's bow and sleeves, the inside of the coach, the inside of the palace, all of it is pink or pink with blue. The original film cover is using pink accented with blue.
Blue was used for III in later releases of the film.

Art for the Target exclusive? Replacement art for the standard or Best Buy exclusive? Just pretty promotional art?
Of course, it is a (slightly re-drawn?) copy of this art:

I kind of hope they redesigned the cover to feature this. It's much better.
Anyway I don't think the digibook will be featured in the DMC website.

Good point! I like the original art they did, but this one is indeed a lot better.

THAT would be awesome. I hate digibooks so I don't want to pick that up if it is the digibook but I hope it's a steelbook or something else.Disney Duster wrote:Art for the Target exclusive? Replacement art for the standard or Best Buy exclusive? Just pretty promotional art?

She actually looks like Cinderella
more Helene Stanley and less Ann Blyth like in the regular blu ray.

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Personally I would like just a better-drawn and accurate version of the Cinderella on the stairs art for the standard and this transformation art for the Best Buy steelbook instead of what looks like one of the kind of amatuer collages that are all over the internet that is indicated as the steelbook we will get.
Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Even though I love the art for the regular edition, I can’t help but think it’s so weird that they drew her smiling in what is supposed to be a very intense and serious moment in the movie. But other than that, I think it’s quite lovely. In this new art that Duster posted, she actually looks like herself. Maybe it’s art for one of the lithographs that the Disney Store will offer with the pre-order.

I love the stairs image and it is lovely, all I need is accurate drawing. I would love a lithograph using the transformation art I posted, too. I really want it for the steelbook but I'd take a lithograph.
