I just saw Mary Poppins Returns!!! It was so good! I had a smile on my face the whole time, and I'll go see it again when it's officially released next week. It was like seeing a big budget musical made in the 1960s. There are even a couple of nods to The Sound of Music. The only disappointment is that Julie Andrews wasn't in it. She should've just done the film. It's obvious that the Balloon Lady role was written with her in mind.

PS I’ve read Karen Dotrice, the original Jane Banks, makes a cameo in the film. Does anyone know what part she plays? Is it a fleshed out character or just a mere quick bit? A part of me really hopes she plays Winifred Banks.
Yep, she's in it. She plays a lady looking for directions on Cherry Tree Lane. It's a very small cameo. If you blink, you'll miss it.Musical Master wrote:
The footage from that one TV Spot, the one where Annabel and John are having some kind of carriage chase in the animated world but darker and scarier to save Georgie seems to be where the score track "Rescuing Georgie comes from, boy howdy is that going to be big nightmare fuel for everyone.
Yep! That is indeed Rescuing Georgie

I'm still reading the novelization. In fact, I just ended reading that chapter before writing that post. So far, what I know is Michael owes money to the bank because he took a huge loan out when his wife got sick. Michael and Jane are trying to find a certificate of the shares their father left them to pay the debt.
Oh okay,
so basically Wilkins is just doing his job but doing it in a negative way that would make him out as a very shallow person/villain. Interesting.
His motivation is greed. He takes advantage of the great slump by repossessing people's homes, and he makes more money that way.
