Wow, a year with original films from both Disney and Pixar! (If none of them gets delayed or cancelled, of course). That's rare nowadays. I'm really looking forward to both films and also to Glen Keane's directorial debut, Over the Moon. So, it looks like a good year to me. As for the award, I agree that the Pixar movie is the one that seems more likely to win right now.

I agree; it's a pretty strong year. Aside from Disney and Pixar's originals so far we have:

• Sony Pictures Animation's The Mitchells vs. the Machines directed by Mike Rianda (Gravity Falls) and produced by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The LEGO Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse).

• Paramount Animation's Monster on the Hill direct by Bradley Raymond (Tinker Bell) based on the book of the same name by Rob Harrell (Life of Zarf).

• Blue Sky Studio's Nimona directed by Patrick Osborne (Feast, Pearl) based on the graphic novel of the same name by Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power).

• Pearl Studio's Over the Moon directed by Glen Keane with songs by Christopher Curtis (Chaplin: The Musical), Helen Park (KPOP), and Marjorie Duffield (Lucky Hans).

• Locksmith Animation's Ron's Gone Wrong directed by Alessandro Carloni (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Kung Fu Panda 3) and J.P. Vine (Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur).

• Sony Pictures Animation's Vivo directed by Kirk DeMicco (Quest for Camelot, The Croods) with songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana).

• BRON Animation's The Willoughbys directed by Kris Pearn (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2) based on the book of the same name by Lois Lowry (The Giver, Number the Stars).

• Cartoon Saloon's Wolfwalkers directed by Tomm Moore (The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea).

^Thanks for the details about each film. The Mitchells vs. the Machines sounds interesting and I'm also curious about Vivo, mainly because it's a musical.

There's going to be a second Pixar film in 2020 which we know nothing about yet. It'll probably be an original too. Hopefully, we'll learn more about it at the D23 Expo in 2019.

Oh, wow. I haven't paid much attention to the release dates of the untitled films, since we don't know anything about them yet. There are going to be more animated features from Disney than usual that year. I hope it's an original film too.

I am excited about this, but I don't expect awards love--a nomination at best.

Netflix updated their awards page for this year and it confirms they are submitting Farmageddon: A Shaun the Sheep Movie, Over the Moon and The Willoughbys for Best Animated Feature. I think all of them have good chances of getting in.

It's disappointing that Bombay Rose and A Whisker Away aren't included in Netflix's FYC page. Hopefully, they'll still submit them despite of that. They need to give foreign animated films some love and appreciation too. Did they forget that last year I Lost My Body was nominated?
