Yeah, I agree it is adult Simba and Nala who need the songs and they need to keep "Be Prepared".

This will be Disney's most successful live-action movie ever. Just you wait.

The trailer was great, and every animal looked so realistic! This is going to be huge, and it will be Disney’s most successful live action remake yet. I’m not a huge Lion King fan, but PLENTY of people quote it as their favorite movie, especially in the black community. Also, there’s the power of Beyonce. The same people that showed up for Black Panther will show up for this.

The teaser has become the second most-viewed movie trailer in 24 hours. Avengers: Infinity War is still #1 with 230 million views.
To our entire pride: Thank you for helping the teaser trailer for The Lion King become the most-viewed Disney trailer debut ever as it reached a record-breaking 224.6 million global views in 24 hours!

Aw, it was so close, too. Well, Avengers unites so many different properties and characters that it's amazing TLK came that close as it is. Either way, the next Avengers film would've broken the record again.

Amy Sedaris has joined the film as an elephant shrew, an original character exclusive to the remake.

You know what? I was thinking about this issue, since the teaser for Beauty and the Beast broke records upon it's release, I was wondering about the records for this teaser. So I'm glad it had so many viewings.

Q: The Lion King trailer suggests it is a shot-for-shot remake. True?

Sean Bailey: The Lion King is a revered and beloved movie, so you'd better revere and love those parts that the audience wants. But there are things in the movie that are going to be new. [And] it is a new form of filmmaking. Historical definitions don't work. It uses some techniques that would traditionally be called animation, and other techniques that would traditionally be called live action. It is an evolution of the technology Jon [Favreau] used in Jungle Book.

The article offers nothing new. It simply regurgitates info from The Hollywood Reporter and Variety that has already been posted here. Also, that image of Simba and Rafiki is fan-made.

looks like they are going to try really hard to create a reason for why they don't consider the film as being animation. I hope its nothing like rotoscoping or mo-cap b/c that is animation.

Don't know if someone already has noticed this, but Beyonce's version of Shadowland, as well as some other cues, has officially been released on YouTube; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y9uwT0df7M.

I'm pretty sure it's fake. Disney wouldn't release this seven months early. And the CD album looks fake too

Even if it is fake, it made me tear up...a lot. I'm so not ready to see Mufasa die again...

Just wanted to say I did read this a few days ago, but I couldn't really think of anything of substance to say. I mean, the mistreatment of workers in the animation industry is acknowledged by most people, isn't it? I wonder if anything will ever change at this point.

Wouldn't it have been better if they'd done something a bit different with the song to make it their own instead of replicating the way it was featured in the original? For example, they could have eliminated Timon and Pumbaa's part of the song. They joke-y bookends weren't needed in the first place.
Q: Have you met Beyoncé?

Billy Eichner: I have not but I do sing with her in the movie. I play Timon and Timon and Pumbaa start singing 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' and then it segways into Beyoncé and Donald Glover singing it.

Beyonce and Donald Glover singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" is great news! For some reason, I thought she would only be singing her one solo song over the End Credits. Glover's great, too.

EDIT:  For some reason, I totally forgot Nala and Simba actually sing during this song, because I always hated whoever is singing as the narrator in the original film. Whenever I listen to the song outside of the film, it's Elton John's version, the Broadway version, or covers.

So, Pumbaa is gray instead of brown and Scar is not white after all? Can we even call these character designs when they look so generic? The illustrations are very poorly made. Like someone wanted to make a rip-off Lion King so they wouldn't get sued and this is the result.
