^How is it possible that Moana, which is from 2016, and Black Panther, that was released just a couple of months ago, are nominated in the same year?

Yeah, I'm wondering this too. I don't follow music awards so I never understand why they are still awarding soundtracks from years prior.

Funny how they keep doing these little things for Moana, but nothing big, ala Sequel/series. I can imagine some Disney Executives: Maybe we should do a Moana sequel/series....looks at Moana's box office/merchandise numbers, No we better not

All Persian dubs from after the Islamic revolution of 1979 are fan dubs. No western media is allowed into the country under their strict theocratic laws. They do have a lot of amateur dubbing studios. That’s why they sound somewhat official but can still have weird audio or off key singing. Lyrics are also clumsily translated sometimes.

I think there is massive demand for it though. Disney should dub their films with some of the many Iranian film stars that have fled the regime. Most of them live in Los Angeles. And Iranians can access Netflix so they should make them available. It’s more effective than threatening to bomb them...

Ohhhhhh that makes a lot of sense. I actually wanted to listen to the Persian dub because of the Persian dub of The Little Mermaid... I heard (and read) the reprise of Part of Your World and it's just so different that makes sense not being done by Disney, because they would never approve the tone change. Thanks!

Speaking of dubs, here are some videos about the Hawaiian dub of the movie, including Auli'i Cravalho re-recording some of her lines

It seems Moana's music is having more success at the music awards than at the film ones. First it won the Grammy and now this.

We received an Amazon Echo as a housewarming gift, and when I'm board, I talk with Alexa. I asked her the other day if she has a last name. She said, "Like Beyonce and Moana, I'm a mononym."

Auli'i, sweetie, you need to get yourself some better taste in music. :P
Q: Which Disney Princess song do you listen to the most?

Auliʻi Cravalho: Almost There from The Princess and the Frog.

She's probably likes it more for Anika Noni Rose. She and Keith David do the heavy-lifting of that soundtrack.

Ariana Grande ~ "imperfect for you"
Kacey Musgraves ~ "The Architect"

Imo Almost There is a great song on an otherwise mediocre soundtrack. I am not a big fan of Princess and the Frog, but Almost There is an exception.

I would say it's more of a mediocre song on a bad soundtrack.

IMO, Moana had the worst soundtrack out of all the revival movies. Outside of "How Far I'll Go" (which was partly ruined by Ms. Cravalho inexperience and unpolished voice -- you can hear her struggling to catch her breath!), I don't remember most of the songs. "We Know The Way" and "Where You Are" sound extremely similar to me, I'm still having trouble differentiating them in my mind.
