Anything is better than we have now. I wouldn't mind Oprah either.

Having the Murdochs involved with Disney might be the worst consequence of a potential sale.
A deal could open the door for James Murdoch, Fox’s chief executive officer, to join Disney. The Murdochs aim to make a decision by the end of the year, the people said. Whether they pursue a transaction will depend on the price and structure, they said.

The Fox assets in play are worth almost $50 billion, according to Alan Gould, an analyst at Rosenblatt Securities Inc., and could translate into a 25 percent stake in Disney if they agree to a stock deal. That would potentially reduce the tax liability for Fox shareholders, including the Murdochs.

I wonder what they'll do with Family Guy if they buy Fox. Given how it has consistently used the "Walt as an Anti-Semite" myth and even recently made a joke of him supporting Auschwitz, maybe Disney will sell it off or bury it, as a middle finger to MacFarlane.

What would this do for the sequel to Deadpool or future Deadpool movies? Hoping they'd continue, but maybe not under the Disney name?

I think if the deal goes through, Disney will keep releasing new projects based on Fox's library under the 20th Century Fox banner.

I would hope, even though Deadpool is a Marvel film, but if it kept going, I could see some huge breaking the fourth wall jokes occur.

That doesn't mean anything. Head of Marvel entertainment and one of disney's biggest shareholder, Ike Permetter, is also conservative. Also, fox news and fox sports won't be going to disney. Only their entertainment division.

I believe, if i remember correctly, Seth has full ownership of Family guy if I remember correctly. So, nothing will come of it.

Family Guy and Deadpool are also cash cows and Disney wouldn't get rid of easy moneymakers. I don't want Disney to own Fox, but if they did, I would hope they just keep Fox as its own distribution and studio and not mesh it with Walt Disney Studios. It would essentially be similar to Miramax, which had its own distribution model. And Fox would probably have a lot more freedom than Miramax, which was restricted by budget (that's why they weren't allowed to produce the Lord of the Rings movies and had to let them go to New Line) and how controversial a project was (films like Dogma and Fahrenheit 9/11 had to be sold elsewhere, because of their polemic content).

All I really want out of a possible buyout of Fox is the rights to all the Marvel characters back with Marvel and Disney/Lucasfilm finally owning A New Hope. Anything else is just gravy to me.

Knowing Disney, I have a feeling that they will indeed mesh Fox with Disney (just as they did with Pixar, Marvel and Lucas), and have it be nothing like with Miramax. It must be remembered that Disney sold off Miramax a long time ago. I think that's Disney's style now: anything it acquires, it meshes and not leave as a separate distribution model. That might have been the case with Eisner, but I doubt that's the case with Iger.

In addition to cartoon shows like "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy", I wonder what this will mean for the myriad shows that 20th Television has done over the years. I shudder to think of the possibilities, especially in terms of theme parks, particularly since the Universal parks have at least one Simpsons ride.

My guess is that Disney will continue to make the franchise films they are making, this time with X-Men and FF under Marvel, and 20th Century Fox will end as a studio. Disney will simply exploit the Fox film library for their streaming service.

Knowing Disney these days, I doubt that very highly. And that's what's got me nervous. They will further synergize everything.
