Re: Enchanted 2 Discussion
I just want two things from this movie. If these don't happen, I will not be supporting it.
a) High quality, hand-drawn animation (and overall visuals) that match that of the original. While James Baxter Animation is defunct, Disney could hire Duncan Studio run by Ken Duncan, a former Disney supervising animator. They specialize in Disney-esque animation and most recently animated seamlessly new scenes for The Iron Giant: Signature Edition. Honestly, I can't think of any other studio-for-hire that can pull that off aside from them.
b) New songs by Alan Menken & Stephen Schwartz and a score by Alan Menken.

Re: Enchanted 2 Discussion
Warm Regards, your idea of a reverse situation to the original film is one Ive pondered myself. But we all know it wont happen, as a reverse means more scenes in Andalasia and that means more animated scenes...especially if they do it in 2d animation. And I still think they wont.
but yes, I love the idea of Robert and her little girl having to venture into the 2d Andalasia world. His daughter would probably think its fun and exciting, but Robert would be completely weirded out.
except man, I wish someone other than Patrick Dempsey was playing Robert. I thought he was so wooden in the film. Really wouldn't mind him being recast...but that would kinda be weird too.
also, must have more Wormtail.

It looks like screenwriter Richard LaGravenese has joined the project. Also, confirmation that Menken and Schwartz are returning!

Wow, that’s great great news!!! I can hardly believe it after all the times they have replaced Menken or not offered him a project! I'm also glad Stephen Schwartz is returning.
Could this also mean the animated sequences are going to be in 2D?

Re: Enchanted 2 Discussion
Not surprised Menken is returning. After all, it's Lasseter who refuses to work with him. To the rest of the company he is still a legend. I distinctly remember Lasseter saying at the premiere on the red carpet he had not yet seen the film. He was never involved in the film in any way. So no reason Menken couldn't return.
I'm really curious where the animation is going to be done now. Anyway, VERY excited for this!

Great news about the hand drawn segments! Let's hope that they're done with as much heart and care as they were on it's predecessor.

IF there are any hand drawn segments. Either way, it will be interesting to see if this will do something for installing interest in handdrawn animatino again.DisneyFan09 wrote:Great news about the hand drawn segments! Re: Enchanted 2 Discussion
I know that I've recently posted the same thing on the Hand Drawn-topic, but due to this issue being relevant on this thread, I'll put it here anyway.
Anyway, it struck me the other day that due to Enchanted not being entirely a Walt Disney Animation Studios production (and not being under the supervision of Lasseter), perhaps it's no wonder why the hand drawn animation scenes turned out to be such a delight. Due to how the Revival era is labeled by the naysayers to as inferior to former Disney, perhaps the absence of Lasseter provided the hand drawn sequences to have such old-school charm and delight. And yeah, I know I'm adding fuel to the fire, but forgive me

Minor updates on the Enchanted sequel.
Source: http://deadline.com/2017/02/gasp-paramo ... 201903983/This comes at a busy time for Offspring, with Shankman awaiting a rewrite by Richard LaGravanese on Enchanted 2, which he will direct this summer with Amy Adams reprising.
Source: http://wwd.com/fashion-news/fashion-sco ... -10756956/Star James Marsden [...] confirmed he is lined up for Disney’s “Enchanted” sequel, though he’s yet to see the script.
Source: http://www.denofgeek.com/us/movies/ench ... ief-updateWhilst little has been heard about it over the past few months, we got the chance to quickly ask Menken what the state of the movie was. "Yes, we’re doing Enchanted 2," he confirmed to Den of Geek UK. Not that there’s too much progress yet. "We’ve had meetings," he added. "Five films I have right now that are waiting for a greenlight."
Source: http://popculture.com/2017/03/17/alan-m ... -composer/Menken returned for Disney’s new live-action film, where he contributed three new songs and updated the arrangements of the classic themes; now that Menken is done with this project, even he isn’t sure about what is on deck.
"I don’t know which is next," he said. "There’s five film projects I’m waiting to get greenlit, and none of them are, yet. You don’t know which one is going to go. There’s Aladdin, there’s [Little Mermaid], there’s a sequel to Enchanted, there’s actually another Little Shop of Horrors coming up at Warner Bros."
Source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-v ... ter-985602Q: What are you working on next?
Alan Menken: At Disney, there's also the Aladdin live-action movie, a developing sequel to Enchanted, and the Tangled TV show.
Source: https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2017/03/ ... an-menken/Q: Is there any other film that you feel you have unfinished business with or would just like to add to?
Alan Menken: There’s discussion about Aladdin, there’s discussion about a sequel to Enchanted, and apparently another Little Shop of Horrors movie is in the works at Warner Bros.
Source: https://www.rollingstone.de/interview-m ... n-1289971/Q: Are you currently involved in other (Disney) projects?
Alan Menken: The only thing I can talk about are those things that have already been announced. [...] In addition, there will be a sequel to "Enchanted". The working title is currently "Disenchanted".
Re: Enchanted 2 Discussion
If they are planning to shoot the film in summer, shouldn't the songs be in a more advanced state by now or is this normal?

Re: Enchanted 2 Discussion
The director gave an interview recently in which he mentioned working on the project. Thankfully, this means that the movie is still in the works.
Source: http://www.broadwayworld.com/los-angele ... 2017072769Q: Who would you love to collaborate with?
Adam Shankman: I'm already working on The Enchanted sequel for Disney, so that, collaborating with Alan Menken and Steven Schwartz... which is extraordinary.
Q: So, what's up next for Adam Shankman the choreographer? Adam Shankman the director? Adam Shankman the producer?
Adam Shankman: Choreographer Shankman is technically available for hire! I'm hired to do the aforementioned Enchanted sequel, which will employ all the Adams above, as well as the Amy Adams!

I'm really looking forward to this movie so glad to hear it's still on.
We’re a dyad in the Force. Two that are one.

"I did want to take your hand. Ben's hand." - Rey
Re: Enchanted 2 Discussion
I'm also glad it's still in the works. I was starting to fear it could had been shelved.
