Post by tlc38tlc38 »

Just wanted to give a heads up that TLM animated series is now on Disney Junior in the early morning hours. Set your DVRs.

Great news!

Some promo for the Diamond Edition.

I hope they release the whole TV show on DVD... (or blu-ray)

It's actually been on DisneyJunior for a while (at least where I live?).

I'm actually surprised they haven't. It's one of the few TV shows that they could tie in with another brand, and it might be one of the few guaranteed to make money (even if it's not one of the best) if they attach it to the Disney Princess franchise with a pink/glittering cover and have it out around a re-release of TLM. I don't think there are as many episodes as their other shows either.

I think Disney has a HUGE opportunity to make a sub franchise to the Disney Princesses, Disney Mermaids. Ariel is already the most popular princess I always thought it would be a good idea to do a franchise with Ariel and her sisters. Little girls love mermaids and I think it would be really popular.

There is also a lot of fan art out there that leads me to think a line of dolls of the regular princesses AS mermaids would sell well too.

I actually saw a bunch of merchandise of Ariel and her sisters around the time of the Platinum release. It never seemed to get pushed in regular stores much though; at least I never saw some of the merchandise I've seen online in stores.

I think a Mermaids line would be very popular. The girls who like Disney Princess would probably love mermaids, too.

It is really surprising that Disney hasn't taken advantage of the whole Princess line in order to cash in on TLM series sets. And I bet a mermaid line would do relatively well.

Reminds me that I never finished mine from a few years back . . .

I sketched out other characters as well but they're really rough (two of them have since been colored). :p Maybe I should go back and fix/finish the other girls.

I kind of don't want to see Snow or Cinderella as a mermaid. There's something disturbing about seeing them in a bikini. Just keep them in a dress. :P

Didn't they try it with 'Ariel and her Sisters' line, but it didnt do as well as they hoped? It was extremely stylized...maybe it was unappealing. Reminded me of the abandoned Aristocats sequel/series.

My former 6 year old self is screaming in agreement and excitement to the idea of the other princesses as mermaids.

I've noticed that Disney Junior is airing the episodes in order with the exception of "Trident True". I wonder why they left this episode out and if they'll air it later on.

Yes. In the early morning hours.

Although, for some odd reason they're not airing the episodes "Trident True" and "Island of Fear".

The Little Mermaid series is on Netflix Scandinavia and presented in HD.

This is a comparison between a TV-rip and the Netflix HD.

That's great news for Scandinavian fans! I wish The Little Mermaid was released here in the states, either on netflix, or on DVD.

It appears hidden penises are not exclusive to just TLM VHS covers...
