Oh really? A PG rating? No! You think? Just based on the way the bear looked and some of the humor and little details of the story, I was expecting a G rating!

Thanks! Though it's not really a trailer but a viral video like the ones they did for Tangled. It reminded me of 'Smolder by Flynn'

by this time, that's actually been kinda known and even mentioned on occassion in this thread.
True, but if they intended the general public to know that plot point I would have assume it would have been mentioned in the trailers.

THANK you! That was driving me crazy . . . I remembered there being a faux commercial from Tangled in the same vein, but couldn't remember what the mock product was.

Some countries (Spain, Brazil, Russia, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) got a different 'families legend' trailer which features new footage:

Belive it or not, but I prefered this trailer. Although I don't like that they're promoting this trailer as a comedy, I still thought this trailer was more cohesive.

As an inconditional fan, I will buy it, but I was hoping for more (much more) visual quality... =(

So it's officially been rated PG for "scary action and rude humor." (No Dreamworks comparisons please!)

Aw. That was very cute! That was perhaps the best promo for this film in the US.

For some reason, seeing little Merida with her mother makes me think of young Rapunzel with Mother Gothel. Only this is in a more positive light and the mother in this case is not only legit but she is genuine.

I agree. She looks much better with her hair loose.

What I find so amazing is how effortlessly they were able to counter attack the crass and silliness of the "Kilt" trailer with the actual heart and essence of the story of this new trailer.

The last scene of this promo with Merida and Elinor on the horses looks like it could be the last scene of the movie.

I feel this movie will make Elinor into a main character along with her daughter to the point people might feel Merida is the decoy protaganist. Its another TV Tropes term for someone who seems to be the main character but later its shown that someone else is the main character.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... rotagonist

Here is the TV Tropes info about a decoy protagnist.

I feel that the adults in the audience will happily connect with Elinor as she goes through the journey of forming that bond with her daughter.

Somehow, I saw the PG rating coming from a mile away. :P
