Digital Copies now serve a purpose with iCloud.

Post by CampbellzSoup »

For those of use who were use to using our Disney Digital Copies as coasters here is some great news. With the new iTunes that came out, now your digital copies are stored on the iCloud.

What does this mean?
- That means that our Disney Digital Copies are now stored forever on the iCloud service meaning you can always redownload or stream your movies from your favorite iDevice: iPhone, iPad, and iTv. Simply just place your Digital Copy CD in the drive, download your film, and it will forever be on the iCloud service.

I thought this is GREAT and makes the Digital Copies actually worth it!

Huzzah! The beginning of the end for physical media...

JUST KIDDING I'm not trying to start that again. But this is very cool. I'm hoping that as we move along Disney and Apple will work closer together so their services mesh better. AKA I'd love to get iTunes Extras with my Digital Copy.

I'm still not sold on digital media, but this is still interesting.

Too bad some digital copy codes expire (or do they all?), so past ones are lost. I also don't have an idevices yet, so... :P

Digital copies will never interest me until they go HD with them.

Well do you have a computer with itunes? You don't necessarily have to have an iphone/ipad to use them.

I just uploaded my very first Digital Copy the other day. Decided to try it with Sorcerer's Apprentice. Since this was my first digital copy, didn't realize the poor picture quality with it.

I just think the whole iCloud/Cloud/cluster/All Access is another way for Big Brother to follow us.

Digital Copies are worthless really. You buy the blu-ray to get the best in picture and audio quality and they give you the lowest quality option to get a digital copy of your movie. they should start offering HD copies.

Hi CampbellzSoup,

Can you please explain to me exactly how this works?
I used all my digital copies on iTunes and love having them on my iOS devices. I have set up an iCloud account, How do I stream them on my iDevice?

Any help would be very appreciated...

Thanks
:-)

I don't think you can stream them. You can download them though as many times as you want. You can go to the "purchased" tab in iTunes and it should have all your purchased movies

Um... who cares? "Big Brother" can watch me all they want. I have nothing to hide.

Do you really think they care what movies we watch? You honestly think that matters? What the hell are they going to do? And who is "they"?

Can they follow my every move in life? I'm sure they can, yes. Do they? Well, I don't care either way, but I really highly doubt that they don't have anything better to do than watch MY every move.

Do you guys not own cell phones? Do you not have a facebook account? Because these certainly give out a whole hell of a lot more information than a copy of a Disney movie ever could.

Thanks for answering Lnds500, I think I get it now...
So on the iPhone you go to iTunes and then the "Purchased" tab and you can download it straight to the device right?

just a heads-up. living in greece, I rarely import from the US and therefore I have quite a few movies in digital copy form. While I have both Winnie the Pooh and The Incredibles, only the later showed up on my purchased history. I have just re-redeemed my Digital Copy of Winnie and now the movie was imported on my iCloud purchases. :)

I have a desktop computer, but I detest watching movies on computer if I am able to watch them on TV instead, and they are right beside each other practically.

Yeah, I get the whole big brother thing for things like Facebook, but clouds? not really. But big brother will matter to you when that data is in the wrong hands. You don't care because you have nothing to hide, and maybe you don't, but two things: we break laws all the time we're not even aware of. This could be a way to catch people doing even seemly innocent things. And what about when when the government decides whatever your doing is illegal or suspect? We shouldn't assume everyone holds themselves to the same standards we do. Corruption does happen, and if/when it does happen in the US (or wherever you live) your kinda screwed.

My mind set though is if big brother is watching us, its really out of our control at this point, so why bother obsessing over it too much?

I haven't joined google plus because I'm worried google is getting to powerful. But its kinda overly paranoid to me to worry about icloud, especially if its encrypted.

Very much agreed on this. There's nothing we could ever possibly do about it, so I'm not going to worry about it.

How does this work when they re-release films? Do we outright own the MOVIE or that particular RELEASE?
