I thought "Bambi" was one of those movies that "sorta flopped", too. Granted, like "Pinocchio", it was mainly on account of WWII, but still...Mason_Ireton wrote: Bob Iger: Everybody who's films were successful may leave, those whoses films sorta flopped, stay.

Bambi was released in the mist of W.W 2, the war was semi part of the flop cause the european market was cut off durnin the war, if the market wasn't cut off then Bambi, Pinocchio and Fantasia would've earned their budgets back possibly. Dumbo was Walt's successful film at the box office durnin W.W 2 then Snow White earned a few more $ for the company which started the 7 year re-release for the DACs

Considering how better animated "Pinocchio" was reputed to be, had it not been for the war, I think that one in particular would probably have retired its cost easily.Mason_Ireton wrote:Bambi was released in the mist of W.W 2, the war was semi part of the flop cause the european market was cut off durnin the war, if the market wasn't cut off then Bambi, Pinocchio and Fantasia would've earned their budgets back possibly.
