The Nightmare Before Christmas 2?

Post by umbreongirl »

Not sure if this goes here (I hope it does). If it doesn't then I'm sorry.

I was searching through google for some images of a chary from The Nightmare Beofre Christmas and came across this......

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/adventure/n ... index.html
Capcom and Disney are teaming up to make a video game sequel to the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas that will have you assume the role of the Pumpkin King as he attempts to reclaim Halloweentown from Oogie Boogie.
A video game sequal?........ok, that's a bad idea. You don't make sequals through video games. Of course it does take 3-5 years to make a movie like the Nightmare b4 x-mas. I'm not sure if this'll do good, but I have a feeling it's going to do half bad. I'm not too sure. Your thoughts?

I'm thinking this is fake. The day we get confirmation that this is real I will officially dislike Tim Burton.

Mixed feelings about this; 60% happy 40% worried.

Although, I doubt this is real too. Even in the past, Tim Burton said that a sequel wouldn't work.

It's not a sequel, it's what we all wanted: the Rob Zombie remake!

No truth to Nightmare sequel:

http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/to ... p?id=17611

"Various outlets were running with the news, broken by Dread Central, that Tim Burton was developing a sequel to the beloved A Nightmare Before Christmas, the animated film that slowly developed an audience and ultimately became a merchandise cash cow for Disney.

There's no link to the original interview in DC's report, but they say Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman) dropped the news during a discussion with an unnamed interviewer.

Producer Derek Frey, who is housed at Tim Burton Productions, tells the Playlist there is "no truth to the rumor." Burton is too busy overseeing Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Dark Shadows at the moment."

What would you prefer? A stop-motion sequel or a live-action remake?
There’s talk at Disney to “do something with “Nightmare Before Christmas” – probably a sequel but live-action possible” we’ve been informed (the tip comes from someone who has given Moviehole credible intent in the past).

...but Tim Burton made it clear, I thought, that TNBC was a special, one-off that he didn't want to taint? 100% want a stop motion sequel, if we're getting one. Heck, a CGI sequel over live action...

That article mentions maybe going the The Lion King/Dumbo "live action" route, and, um, Simba + friends/Dumbo are CGI in the new ones...
