I didn't even think of Cars 2 having Geico could be there life insurance as well.....great....so now if we see a Geico car voiced by Denzel Washington we'll know that Allstate and and Geico got a 2 for 1 specialMargos wrote:That would be hysterical! Especially since for them, car insurance is life insurance, too! Maybe there could be a gag in the whole spy-plot thing in which someone want to off someone else to collect his Geico insurance.... Idk, but it could be amusing.....

I think I'm starting to see the Cruella/Hook features in Dr. Facilier now. His face is shaped very similarly to Cruella De Vil's. But his evil grin is like Jafar's in how it has that slick sneer to it. These characters will definitely be an intresting bunch. Only twenty eight days away!Old Fish Tale wrote:New promos!

I can see your point. Disney characters do have that sense of togetherness that I can tell whenever I see a picture or poster that shows all of them gathered around. The same can be said for pictures of Disney Princesses and Villains. They're all unique in their own way, but they come together to meet with characters that act similar to them as though they get along. I love it when heroes, villains, or all the characters meet in pictures or on the screen.katemonster wrote:I love how all Disney animated movies/characters have that same "feel" but all are individually unique at the same time! It is almost like if you put ALL the characters on the screen together from different movies, they would all look a little similar. Do you know what I mean?

Which is what makes "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" so awesome. Sure, the WB and other assorted characters sometimes looked odd next to the Disney ones, but I loved the panning shots through Toontown showing all of the obscure Silly Symphony etc. characters. Did anyone else notice how many times the Reluctant Dragon appeared in that film!? It was quite a good number. He never gets enough credit, screentime, or recognition as far as I'm concerned.

Barbossa, do you know how much the plushes were?

Is The Princess and the Frog Disney’s next Franchise?
http://thedisneyblog.com/2009/11/12/is- ... franchise/
The picture struck me as cool, how all the girls were wearing Tiana's dress, but then I noticed all the other merchandise, so I wonder if it was a photo op, or were the girls dressed up like that and just happened to be at a merchandise exhibit?
For TP&tF to be a "franchise", doesn't there have to be more than one film? I mean, POTC is a franchise, Narnia is/was a franchise, right? Would you call the Mighty Ducks movies a franchise? I'm not even 100% sure what a franchise is. Dictionary.com is my friend.

I guess that one could call Cars a franchise then (even without there being the second film, I guess). But using that above definition, wouldn't most of the more recent DACs be franchises, then?dictionary.com wrote:A brand name under which a series of products is released.
Ooooo!!! Is there any way we can get a hold of High-res versions of those pics?Old Fish Tale wrote:New promos!

Great pictures! I don't know why, but Dr. Facilier sneaking about kind of made me chuckle.

I feel like even if TPatF remains a stand-alone picture, it's probably going to have some "franchise legs" since it's a "princess" film, and princesses have certainly become a franchise in their own right as far as Consumer Products is concerned!blackcauldron85 wrote:

There are already a bunch of different products branded "The Princess and the Frog." It seems like it's going to carry on as a franchise for a while, at least until Tiana becomes a little more incorporated into the Princess franchise. Of course, Pocahontas and Mulan are still not integrated into that franchise too terribly well, and they've been around for over a decade. So we might be seeing this new franchise around for a bit. (Works for me, since it's nice to see some princess merch branded with the nice, purple TPatF banner instead of the same-old pink Princess one).Ariellen wrote:

That sounds right. It is really nice seeing a new title carrying its own label... I am liking how this film is being marketed so far. It reminds me of the early '90s, where I there was enough presence to get me familiar with the story and characters and keep me excited, but not go off the deep end. (I remember my family being sick of Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame before they were even released, thanks to excessive promotion.) I like that a lot of the current Tiana/PatF merchandise is good, and different than a lot of the other "Princess" stuff. I haven't really collected dolls for several years, but I think the "Just One Kiss" doll with the frog on her hand is adorable and really rooted in the story and her character, not just, "Here, buy this. She's pretty and wearing a sparkly dress!"Margos wrote:

(And I totally agree about Pocahontas and Mulan... they seem to have a "Tuesdays and bank holidays" sort of presence in the Princess line. Which can be seen as a good thing in some ways. I am a huge fan of the princesses individually, but grow weary of the same stock art plastered all over anything pink... Poca and Mulan are being spared!)
