I voted for Naveen! He's funny and sexy, and he's a Disney-prince! It has been to long since Disney made a new prince... And I believe that Disney's corporate and ever present focus on the "Disney-princess" is sad because the princesses gets all the attention and because it makes the classical movies seem like they're only aimed at girls and not at both genders and people of all ages. So therefore, give some love to the neglected Disney-prince!^^

I love it when the characters are original and aren't subject to old cliches. It makes the story that much more compelling and believable. You actually bond with the characters and feel for their conflicts and success, and that right there is what makes a character to me. More than anything, great characters that people can identify with, understand, and intrest are makes a book or movie shine.
Fanasty enchants people with magic and monsters. It's only downside is that the characters tend to be sterotypical when it comes to damsel, heroic, or villainous personalities. Don't get me wrong, I love fanasty and fairytales very much, but that is a common thing about them. If you add a little realism into the mix, it can make the characters more real for today's time and age. Even though realism isn't about magic and monsters, it does make character personalities connect. That's what I love about fanasty and realism mixing together. They are polar opposites, but they somehow work together to make a story that may not be possible with magic and monsters, but the people involved in the magical adventure can be definitely real in their personatlity.
The Princess and The Frog isn't your typical fairytale movie. The characters are turned into frogs by voodoo magic, but the way their personatlites develop is not like normal fairytales. Sometimes you look beyond the magic and fanasty and feel for the characters. You can still like the hero, princess, and villain, but they all have that certain unique thing about them that could tie us to feelings and emotions that can be felt in both fanasty and realism. For me, characters are everything.

Anyone else think Dr. Facilier looks like Danny John-Jules in that picture?
(That would be the Cat in "Red Dwarf," in case you aren't familiar with the name....)

Oh and another thing about Tiana... SPOILER ALERT
At one point when Tiana finally faces Dr. Facilier he tells her that he can make her dream come true. In one move, Tiana would have gotten her restaurant, she turns back into a human, and returns home to her friends and family. Tiana was very tempted by the devil. But she decides NOT to help Facilier, so she turns back into a frog. What this tells me about Tiana is that even though this is her dream she would have gotten it at the cost of all things good. She had honor and knew that there are better things than personal goals. Again, this is a wonderful thing about Tiana. True, all of the Disney characters have a certain moral code, like Mulan refusing to accept that her sick father needed to go to war and Kida sacrificing herself for her people. But it's been a while since we had a character like Tiana.
Well I would love to answer which is my favorite TPAF character...buuut, I haven't seen it yet, so I will wait and then answer the poll. I guess for now my favorite is Tiana of course...just cause she's the main character, a princess, and she's pretty, and I like pretty princesses she seems like a nice gal though.
Anyhoo, I'm still super stoked for this movie It's almost here!
*edit. Other then the trailer I haven't read or seen any spoiler footage, I really want this to be an experience like when I was younger and I would see a Disney flick for the first time and be all surprised and what not.

I agree with you 100% Siren.Siren wrote: Its why I love Tiana and Naveen as a Disney couple. You have two completely different characters that are forced into a predicament, and learn to appreciate life thanks to each other. Naveen learns that while its important to have fun it is also important to work and have responsibilities, while Tiana learns that its OK to work hard for a dream but that its also OK to take a break, have fun and enjoy life.
It's fantastic if you ask me.
Sigh, if only life's lessons like this one actually happened a lot more often in our world. However, this is one of the many reasons why the anticipation and desire of seeing this movie absolutely kills me because the film itself is a constant reminder about what life's worth and how taking a step back once in a while can determine what you do to live it to the fullest.
Now to all those people who say that TPatF is a copycat film, if this isn't an original and creative theme for a movie, then I honestly don't know what is.

Um, Siren didn't say that. I diddisneystarsfan wrote:I agree with you 100% Siren.Siren wrote: Its why I love Tiana and Naveen as a Disney couple. No, you only need an iTunes login to get the application. Once you download it you can also play this rhythmical music game and meet characters from the film. Let me know if it works for you!Poody wrote:Do you have to have an iphone to play that? and are the songs in full?katemonster wrote:I am counting down until the soundtrack is released on November 23rd! That would be hysterical! Especially since for them, car insurance is life insurance, too! Maybe there could be a gag in the whole spy-plot thing in which someone want to off someone else to collect his Geico insurance.... Idk, but it could be amusing.....
