BURBANK, Calif. April 5, 2004 – Walt Disney Home Entertainment presents the FREAKY
FRIDAY 2-Pack DVD, available June 1. This terrific package features the smash hit film
starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, and the original “Freaky Friday” starring Jodie
Foster and Barbara Harris, available for the first time on DVD. Both of these comedies are
available together at the outstanding price of $39.99 (S.R.P.). Distributor prebook: April 20.
The original Freaky Friday on DVD includes:
• “A Look Back With Jodie Foster” – an ALL-NEW interview about this classic comedy
with Jodie Foster
• “Memory” interactive game
The 2003 Freaky Friday on DVD includes:
• Backstage Pass with Lindsay Lohan
• Freaky Bloopers

Freaky Friday (1976): It could only happen on Friday the 13th! That’s when the tomboyish
Annabel (Jodie Foster, Academy Award® winner Best Actress “The Silence of the Lambs” 1991
and “The Accused” 1988) switches bodies with her mother, Ellen (Barbara Harris, “Grosse Pointe
Blank,” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”), and suddenly finds herself responsible for running the
household! And Ellen, now in her daughter’s body, faces the challenges of school, including a
typing test, field hockey practice and more!
Freaky Friday (2003): In the tradition of The Princess Diaries, Freaky Friday is the extremely
funny and heartwarming comedy everyone will love. Dr. Tess Coleman (the hilarious Jamie Lee
Curtis, “True Lies,” “A Fish Called Wanda”) and her teenage daughter Anna (rockin’ Lindsay
Lohan, “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”) have one thing in common – they don’t relate
to each other on anything. Not on clothes or men or Anna’s passion to be in a rock band. Nothing.
Then one night a little mystic mayhem changes their lives and they wake up to the biggest freakout
ever. Tess and Anna are trapped inside each other’s body! But Tess’s wedding is Saturday
and the two must find a way to switch back – fast! Literally forced to walk in each other’s shoes,
will they gain respect and understanding for the other’s point of view? Filled with comedy, rock
‘n roll and lots of heart, Freaky Friday is freaking fun everyone can enjoy together.
Both movies earned Golden Globe nominations!

I preordered this one from the link you posted a week or so ago, L.
Nice to have official confirmation though. So I can ease my paranoid mind that I am actually ordering what I think I am.
I resisted buying the local FF (remake) or preordering the one coming up here for the original in the hope a twin pack would be available...and well, here it is.
I have to say that I thought the remade FDF was lots of fun. I assumed it would be a big cringe-fest, but actually proved to be a good little fillum. Been too long since I have seen the original to comment, but look forward to seeing it again.

I'm definitely buying this as I love both versions, but don't own the remake, yet. It sucks majorly, though, that the original DVD won't be a SE. What happened to the "hours of content" Disney had put up on their site? It seems Disney decided to take the cheap way out. If they had commentary, a featurette, and a trailer along with that Jodie interview and game, then I'd be mildly satisfied. Ah, well...

Man, I was hoping Disney would give "Freaky Friday" a 2-disc Vault Disney release. But at least it is in widescreen, 5.1, and has 2 special features. That's more than most get.
I'm currently watching and reviewing every Disney film in chronological order. You can follow along at my blog, The Disney Films, and also follow me on Twitter.

Mind you, this wouldn't be the first time Disney had issued a press release and left off a major detail (e.g. Sleeping Beauty and the audio commentary).Disneykid wrote:I'm definitely buying this as I love both versions, but don't own the remake, yet. However, the R4 Australian release is identical, so I doubt anything more will be announced. The documentary could be lengthy!

DisneyKid have you not heard Jodie in an interview or commentary before? That Jodie interview could be "hours of content" on its own as she rambles on... and on... and on.Disneykid wrote:I'm definitely buying this as I love both versions, but don't own the remake, yet. Only joking. Jodie always has lots to say, but must be one of the most intelligent and thoughful movie commentators out there. I'm sure that, even if only 20 minutes this interview will be worth more than upteen set-top games and music videos!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I've never seen either Freaky Friday, but will watch likely them both in the near future. They both look like movies I'd buy, though, so this is good news.

I bet you'd love the original if you're a fan of Jodi Foster (as I guess you are if you liked Candleshoe). It isn't anything like Candleshoe, but both it and Freaky Friday are going to be worth picking up.awallaceunc wrote:I've never seen either Freaky Friday, but will watch likely them both in the near future. I picked up the VHS at one of the campus libraries today. I'd rather wait for the DVD, but I don't know how long it would be before I'd be ready to shell out cash to buy it, so VHS will have to suffice, even if it's not OAR. They have the new one on DVD, and I'll get that next.
