Bobby's aunt & uncle took us eating around the world at the Food & Wine Festival today- it was awesome, and a treat, because we don't usually do things like that unless family pays for us, lol.
I had (from Mexico) a sausage & cheese quesidilla and break pudding, (from Canada) maple-glazed salmon with arugula & roasted corn and maple custard, (from Germany) spaetzle with mushrooms, and (from Austria) Jatebpitz (boiled beef brisket with red potatoes and horseradish cream sauce) and Buchteln (apricot jam roll with vanilla sauce).
It all was so good!

Sounds good! Even though you liked it all, did you have a particular favourite?blackcauldron85 wrote:Bobby's aunt & uncle took us eating around the world at the Food & Wine Festival today- it was awesome, and a treat, because we don't usually do things like that unless family pays for us, lol.

(I meant bread pudding, not break pudding, lol, FYI..just call me Captain Obvious.)
At the end of the night, I said that both foods from Austria were my favorites, but that may have been because those were the last 2 foods I ate. I love seafood, so the salmon was awesome, but the arugula & corn were amazing as well, due to the maple. I grew up having spaetzle (which is a German noodle-dumpling food), so I've always loved that, and this had yummy mushrooms on top. Everything was just really good. I had never had a sausage quesidilla before, so that was really yummy. Everything was good...I guess if I HAVE to choose, I'll say Austria and Germany...

I had some leftover rigatoni & sauce for lunch, and now I'm having chicken tenders, macaroni & cheese, and a brownie (a frozen Banquet meal) and some chocolate milk. Yum! I kind of disturbs me that there's no veggie in this meal, but I wanted the brownie. Oh, and my dipping sauce today is barbecue sauce. I always like to change it up!

I just had some Tombstone half & half (half pepperoni & half cheese) pizza. Most of the pepperonis stuck to the wrapper, so the whole pizza ended up being pepperoni. I tend to judge a pizza by how good its crust is, and the crust was surprisingly amazingly yummy!
And now I'm having strawberry frozen yogurt with Cool Whip! YUM!
