I thought I smelt something fishy!!!

Post by Papa Bear »

And I was right today when I checked my mail I got a mailing from the Disney Movie Club and towards the back of the catalog the have a section for Multi-packs where they have a bunch of movies grouped together, nothing to exciting since I already have all the DVD's but then I noticed the Herbie 3-pack which was listed for both DVD and VHS and the pack include all the herbie movies except the original, I figured it had to be a flaw because ever since I have found this wonderful site I always know well in advance of what DVD's are coming out but evan looking at the picture you could see it was taken of three DVD's so I decided to call them on it and I called the Disney movie club and gave her the item number and after a few minutes of trying to pull up the info she told me that she was sorry but that it was a typo and the the DVD's of those movies never existed was not surprised but I am assuming that this is a sign that they will all be released in near future I assumed they would be released around the release of "The Love Bug" but had not heard anthing but after seeing the picture I am quite sure that they are on the shelf ready to go somewhere however it does look like the DVD's will come out as part of the "Walt Disney Film Classics" Collection under the heading of "the Love Bug Collection" and I am sure that they will follow the lineup as before with pan and scan and no bonous features but atleast they are treating the original one well with all the perks, well I guess we will see.

That makes sense - because at least Disney International had plans to release (and possibly still do) Herbie Goes Bananas & Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo here in Australia in June.

Mind you, this info seems to have disappeared from "official" sites (as did any info regarding the Fables and Treasures sets). We have never had any info on the Love Bug SE either (ordered mine from US, using Luke's links of course :) ).

Hopefully we will all see all 3 of these film released at some stage in the future. I have very fond memories of these films as a young 'un watching Saturday afternoon Disney films.

I belive these were released in the UK, as was "The Love Bug" (but they were barebones and are long since out of print).

I don't know if they were widescreen or not. I can't see any listings for them anywhere on the usual online e-tailer sites only "The Love Bug", so maybe I was wrong and they weren't released.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
