#1: Before creating a new thread, you are encouraged and expected to first search for an existing thread on the same topic. If relevant, it may be better to add on to this existing thread than starting a new one. Duplicate threads add clutter.
#2: When creating a thread, make sure to choose the appropriate forum section. Deliberately starting a topic in the wrong section to gain more exposure and responses is frowned upon.
#3: Choose clear and accurate titles for your threads. Avoid misleading or vague wording in the subject line. Also, avoid using ellipses in the title to create suspense.
#4: Bumping threads without adding anything to draw attention to a specific topic is not allowed. If people are interested in discussing a certain topic, they will do so without such prodding.
#5: Use the "quote" button in moderation. Avoid quoting long posts, blocks of quotes or posts that contain embedded videos or images. If you are replying to a large post, only quote the specific part you wish to respond to and remove any irrelevant text.
#6: Limit the use of emoticons. There is no need for ten emoticons in a row. You can usually get your point across with one or two.
#7: Use font colors and sizes sparingly, as they can be annoying and distracting if used to excess.
#8: Do not double, triple, quadruple, etc. post. Wait until someone else replies before making another post. If you need to add something, edit your previous post.
#9: Avoid going off-topic. If you need to discuss a different subject, simply create a new thread.
#10: Embedding videos is allowed only for material relevant to the topic at hand which contribute to the discussion. Videos used as merely reactions to something or as a means to express a sentiment need not be embedded.
#11: Embedding large images or videos that take up the whole page creates an unpleasant browsing experience. Post them in more reasonable sizes or post the links to them instead.
#12: Inline linking (hotlinking) media files should be avoided. There are plenty of free file-hosting services where you can upload the files you wish to share.
#13: Do not spam or vandalize threads. Editing your posts to significantly alter or remove their content entirely is strictly prohibited. Unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other websites is not permitted under any circumstances. Contacting any member via private messaging for commercial purposes is not acceptable.
#14: Use the "report this post" function with prudence and caution. Only report posts which clearly violate forum rules.
#15: Avatars and signatures/banners should not exceed the established dimensions. Avatars should be 100 x 100 pixels while signatures 500 (width) x 100 (height) pixels in size.
#16: Sharing or linking to copyrighted material such as music or films is not permitted. Discussion of any illegal activities is not permitted either.
#17: Accounts are strictly limited to one per individual. Duplicate accounts will be banned without prior notice. If there is a problem with your account (forgotten password, etc.), contact the forum administrator instead of registering for a new account. Existing accounts are not deleted upon request.
#18: Attacking or harassing fellow members will not be tolerated. Members must be courteous and respectful to each other. No direct or indirect personal attacks or insults of any kind will be allowed. Posts which antagonize, belittle or humiliate other members will be removed. Needless to say, trolling and flaming are also prohibited.
#19: Lewd, disturbing or otherwise inappropriate content has no place on this message board. Materials featuring graphic violence, nudity, pornography, etc. are prohibited.
#20: Use of foul or offensive language (such as slurs) is not acceptable nor is engaging in hate speech of any kind.
