This is really hard, as it always shifts around. In the end I mixed personal preference with level of iconic status.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah (Song of the South)
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo (Cinderella)
Heigh Ho (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
I've Got No Strings (Pinocchio)
When You Wish Upon A Star (Pinocchio)
You Can Fly (Peter Pan)
Hakuna Matata (The Lion King)
Beauty and the Beast (Beauty and the Beast)
Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid)
I See the Light (Tangled)
A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes (Cinderella)

I agree. I've heard it criticized so often, particularly Kane, but I kind of love his voice--personally--though he's clearly not the best technical singer out there. It makes it easy to understand why Jasmine would love him.

It's harder to do a list then I thought.

1. Feed the Birds – Mary Poppins

No musical instrument is more beautiful than the human voice. Julie Andrews’ voice is warm, soft, comforting, kind and ridiculously pitch-perfect. It’s her voice that makes the song my favourite; she transforms the well-written lyrics into a heart-warming, enchanting lullaby, elevating the simple story of the bird lady on the steps of St Paul and making it something … mythical, or like a fairy tale. The background choir near the end of the song makes it all the more of a numinous experience to listen to. Brilliantly, the Sherman Brothers show through artistic, timeless poetry the beauty of simple, selfless charity.

2. Hellfire - The Hunchback of Notre Dame
3. Baby Mine – Dumbo
4. Prince Ali – Aladdin
5. Hi Diddle Dee Dee – Pinocchio
6. Poor Unfortunate Souls – The Little Mermaid
7. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - Mary Poppins
8. A Whole New World - Aladdin
- Part of me is embarrassed about liking this one and for loving Brad Kane’s voice so much, but I can’t bloody help it. It’s enchanting.

9. When You Wish Upon A Star – Pinocchio
10. Casey Junior - Dumbo
11. Little April Shower – Bambi
12. A Spoonful of Sugar – Mary Poppins

1. Beauty and the Beast
2. A Whole new World
3. One Song
4. Bare Necessities
5. Hellfire
6. Feed the Birds
7. The gospel truth/I won't say I'm in love
8. Prince Ali /Let It Go
9. Part of your World
10. Gaston / Everybody wants to be a Cat / Streets of Gold

Recalling these at times is hard, sometimes i don't care for most of the songs, sometimes I love them all...

Just movies, right? Because if I added theme parks to this my head would split.

1. Bells of Notre Dame
2. Heaven's Light/Hellfire
3. Feed the Birds
4. The Gospel Truth
5. Poor Unfortunate Souls
6. Out There (the beginning duet between Frollo and Quasi is probably one of my favorite Disney musical moments. The performance is flawless. Also, if it isn't apparent, I can't praise HoND's soundtrack enough.)
7. Circle of Life
8. Ne Mele No Lilo
9. Jack's Obsession (does Nightmare Before Christmas count? If not then I'll offer an alternative)/Friend Like Me
10. Ma Belle Evangeline (It's beautiful in its old-fashioned simplicity, unlike most other modern Disney songs. Also, say what you want about Randy Newman, but he knows how to use instruments extremely well.)
11. Good Company
12. Bare Necessities (I'll Make a Man Out of You almost took this spot, until I remembered that I dislike some of the song's lyric choices, namingly the part when Shang stops singing and the other characters take over. Still, it's my favorite Disney song to singalong to).

Honorable mentions/Some songs that I typed up to put on this list before I cut it down to 12: I Won't Say I'm in Love, Gaston, Part of Your World, The Second Star to The Right, When You Wish Upon a Star, I 2 I/Eye to Eye, Just Around the Riverbend, Strangers Like Me, the reprise of For the First Time in Forever, Le Festin (from Ratatouille)

10. Hellfire - The Hunchback of Notre-Dame
9. I'm Wishing - Snow White
8. Some Day My Prince Will Come - Snow White
7. When You Wish Upon A Star - Pinocchio
6. A Whole New World - Aladdin
5. Under the Sea - The Little Mermaid
4. I See the Light - Tangled
3. Be Our Guest - Beauty and the Beast
2. Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast
1. Part of Your World (and the reprise) - The Little Mermaid

My list only includes songs from animated classics, and it's much, much longer,

Sorry about the length. For some reason when I start ranking, I feel like I’m forgetting songs and then I keep going until I end up with huge lists. Then I thought it would be better if I separated between different areas, like the movies themselves, the musicals, etc. It makes it easier to keep myself straight.

Out of covers I've heard, one I really liked was Barbra Streisand's "Someday My Prince Will Come".

I really like the first two covers, so don't be ashamed, that's like the best version of "A Dream is a Wish" I've ever heard aside from the original. I decided to listen to the Lucas Grabeel "Distance" and I think I heard it before and forgot it. But I love it!

The instrumentals are great, too. Sometimes I spend more time listening to the score than the actual songs!

-Snow White's Prologue, and the Queen's eerie theme that is heard in the more "creepier" scenes
(does Fantasia count... )
-Dumbo's Bath Time
-Bambi's score. The instrumental really play a role in the atmosphere of this movie.

-Sleeping Beauty's A Cottage in the Woods (not sure if we can count this one either)
-Jungle Book's prologue

-Little Mermaid's Opening Credits
-The Beast Lets Belle Go
-The scene in the Oasis in Aladdin has a very nice tune too, the basis for it was made into To Be Free in the California musical
-This Land, Under the Stars from Lion King
-Pocahontas' River's Edge and Getting Acquainted
- Cutting the Thread in Hercules and Meg's Garden. I won't say I'm in love sounds very good as a slow instrumental for some reason
- Tarzan's A Wondrous Place

-The Trolls, Coronation Day, and We Were So Close from Frozen
I like the more futuristic pieces of films like Wreck It Ralph and BH6. They give a personal touch to their world that distinguishes from our own.

Yeah, I love Ilene Woods’s warm voice, but I find the song itself such a boring slog, sort of like Aurora’s songs. The choral reprise just before the Fairy Godmother appears is gorgeous though. The Disney Channel version is actually much better than I thought the main song could sound, tbh, even as a dance song. I remember playing the video on the Platinum DVD over and over (I was in early high school when I bought it, I think?) I thought the Phil of the Future guy who was in the video was adorable.

“Some Day My Prince Will Come” is odd in that I don’t really like it in-film, but I’ve heard so many other versions of it that I love, like the Streisand version which is the absolute best version including the original film. Oh, and as I was typing this I realized I forgot to include On the Record when I was doing the musicals list; I’ll go back and edit my post to include it. I love Ashley Brown. She’s why I love the MP musical cast recording. Julie Andrews is technically perfect, but I often find her a bit dull. I also forgot Elton Johns’ end credits versions of several of the TLK songs—I hate the in-film version of “CYFtLT,” but love his version and both “CoL”’s are nice--but I’m not going to edit the original film list anymore for my own sanity.

I know, I love the music that plays during Ursula’s intro and the part when she becomes a giant at the end. The former just sounds so odd and haughty, gypsy-ish, and then the way it comes to a head like a ticking clock/wire being strung out is well-done; the latter sounds sort of like a creepy re-making of the world (sort of like the volcano scenes in Fantasia). Two of my other favorites are “A True Hero” from Hercules, “The Rightful King” from TLK, and “Farewell” from Pocahontas. (Naturally “Main Titles” and “Happy Ending” from TLM are some of my absolute favorites. ) Music is definitely one of the strongest aspects of the Disney canon as a whole, even if the older films are a little harder for me to get into sometimes.

Yeah I feel the instrumentals are an important part of the films as well, since they give each film their own identity (which is a problem for the early Pixar films, since their scores sound pretty similar- something that also caught up with PATF).

And Disney covers are also a delight. And even when Disney comes out with special albums/remixes with their songs done in an specific style (jazz, j-pop), often they're kinda fun. I guess it's just the magic of their music, that it can transcend even the genres.

I forgot to add "When You Wish" onto my list. Overplayed and maybe nowadays it's lost its splendor due to the commercial use by the company, but there's just a magic in it that sweeps you off your feet.

I find the instrumentals in Disney films just as powerful as the songs and sometimes more. Also the choral parts.

Divinity, did I miss that you wrote in Streisand's cover before me? I must have missed that which is weird because it was the first cover you wrote? Anyway, yea I find "A Dream" boring as with pretty much the rest of the songs except for "Cinderella", "Nightingale", and "Bibbidi". However, when I'm watching them in the actual film, they work perfectly. It is indeed Ilene's voice and performance that make me enjoy "A Dream". And yes, the choral versions of it for the Fairy Godmother, and also, to me, the ending, are so beautiful and powerful. I actually like Aurora's "I Wonder" very much, though. Wow I'm older than you, I was in my last year of high school when I bought Cinderella's Platinum. I looked up Phil of the Future and damn that guy's hot. I also never thought they could make "A Dream" sound so great.

I do however like "Some Day My Prince" in-film.
