Thank You so much for this thread Luke! I know that living in the UK means I can't join the DMC, but it's nice to know what's happening none the less!

Ok, as Princess Stitch stated in the "What's the current featured title?` thread, Donald In Mathmagic Land is a new club exclusive as well as Ride A Wild Pony. Donald In Mathmagic Land and School House Rock have been put together and are on sale for $24.95(us) or $29.95(can) and you also get a 3-d card. Ride a Wild Pony sales for $19.95, and that's all I have on it.

High adventure unfolds in the vast beauty of Australia when a poor "bush boy" finds true freedom. A wealthy ranch owner's gift of a wild pony means young Scotty can finally ride the seven miles to and from school. But the pony gets away and is sheltered by a young girl who cannot walk. The treasured pony means freedom to both children, but can only belong to one in a gripping story of hope against the odds. "G"
Thats the info given on the DMC site.... I'll probably get the 2-pack of Donald and School House rock and then donate the School House rock to a local school or someone who is a teacher seeing as I already have Schoolhouse rock and the main reason I am buying it is for Donald In Mathmatic Land...

But that will have to wait until the middle of the month for the next pay day after today...

From the Disney Movie Club website:

This highly acclaimed, Academy Award®-nominated film (Documentary Short Subject, 1959), is one of the most popular and entertaining educational films ever made by Walt Disney. A curious Donald Duck ventures into the wondrous Mathmagic Land, where trees have square roots and rivers are brimming with numbers! During his lively journey, Donald discovers that you can have mirth with math, fun with fractions, and laughs with logic in this fascinating and timeless milestone in Disney's animation legacy - now on DVD!

And from IMDB.com:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052751/

It's only 27 minutes long, so I'm interested in what the bonus features, if any, are.

(And, as a side note, "Donald in Mathmagic Land" is also available without "Schoolhouse Rock" for $19.95.)

OMG, I've been waiting to get Donald in Mathmagic Land forever. The site is currently busy but I'll be getting this one as soon as the site comes up again. Thank you Disney!

I was finally able to get in so I ordered the two-pack. I can't wait for this thing to get here.

I mentioned in another thread, but you can get Donald in Mathmagic land separately (it's 24.95 CAD so probably a 19.95 US title). You just won't get the 3-D card with it. It's only a $5 difference but it'll pay for shipping at least! I got the 2-pack because I hadn't gotten around to picking up Schoolhouse Rock yet.

DMC exclusive discussion

"Ride a Wild Pony" is now available on DVD for the first time! That makes several great classic Disney films exclusively available to the DMC. Now, I'm a member and totally buying all of these, but I was wondering on what other people thought about this. I think it is a great marketing ploy and a reason to join the club.....anyone NOT think that it is a good idea? I know that it sucks if your not a member, but that's not the point.....or rather it IS the point.......by having exclusives you make people WANT to be members of this club and then you can guaruntee several DVDs being bought because someone only wanted the one title exclusive to the club.

Now I know that you can usually find these DVDs on ebay, but the prices are jacked up a lot too.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on the whole DMC exclusive....are there any titles you'd like to see DMC exclusive?

Also, I thought I'd post all of the available DMC exclusives here (I'm sure it is elsewhere on the site, but this way people don't have to open up seperate browser windows).

Ride a Wild Pony
Treasure of Matecumbe
Rob Roy the Highland Rogue
The Fighting Prince of Donegal
The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men
Kidnapped
Yellowstone Cubs
The Blluegrass Special
A Tiger Walks
The Horse Without a Head
Jumping Ship
Smart House
Ducktales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp
Shipwrecked
A Knight in Camelot
Tall tale
Gepetto
Mail to the Chief
Zorro the Complete First Season

I didn't list any titles that are released alone on DVD to DMC which are available in compilation form outside the DMC (i.e. The Reluctant Dragon, Donald in Mathemagicland, etc....all of which are availabe on compilation discs outside the DMC)

Some of my qualms are the lack of bonus features, the aspect ratio issues, and the lack of chapter searches sometimes. Some DVDs are great picture presentation and complete widescreen and everything (I really like the Jumping Ship DVD because of this), but some don't have any chapters or anything and the aspect ratio is fullscreen (i.e. Shipwrecked)

So I ask again.....thoughts?

Seeing that list makes me really irritated that you can't join the Disney movie club outside the US. Or that Disney is being cheap and not putting these titles on the regular market.

major lulz! Sorry I couldn't find the thread earlier...i swear i looked...I'm not a complete n00b ;)

I would definitely want The Parent Trap III, and IV! those would be perfect for the club too!! Actually there are a TON of made for tv movies from the late 80s and early 90s that I think would be perfect for the club (i.e. The remakes of Shaggy Dog and Absent Minded Professor, as well as Friendship in Vienna, Mother Goose' Rock 'N Rhyme, and Great Expectations to name a few)

I would also be stoked for Almost Angels, Charlie and the Angel, and The Wild Country.

Has Donald In Mathmagic Land been removed from the site as a stand alone purchase? I only see it listed as a combo package with Schoolhouse Rock. I would like to purchase just Donald In Mathmagic Land alone.

I recently looked for it alone, too, and I couldn't find it except with "Schoolhouse Rock".

I heartily agree with you, with one minor correction made! ;) :)
