Last Friday, me and a dear friend went to see Black Widow, and we both enjoyed it. While I wasn't amused by Taskmaster's depiction compared to what I've seen of the character from Marvel's cartoons, I'm just glad Natasha Romanov finally received her own popcorn movie, rather than it never happening. We will be seeing it again soon, because we arrived very late for the opening credits.

Their response was pretty galling. I mean, trying to hide behind the guise of caring about people's safety when we know they're just too greedy to pay people fairly. They just assumed no actor would have the guts to actually sue because people are terrified of what Disney can do to their career.

In my opinion, Disney did compensate her fairly. The premium access sales were counted as box office to increase her bonus. By the time of the lawsuit, she was paid more than $20 million which is on par for A-list actors. I think the reason Johanson felt stiffed is because she expected a higher turnout for her character's solo movie. She thought this was going to be another billion-dollar movie, but she didn't gauge audience interest and adjust her expectations accordingly. This movie was never going to reach a billion, even without the pandemic, due to two main reasons: 1) It was released post-Endgame and the hype and anticipation that propelled Captain Marvel to a billion had ebbed. 2) Her character was killed off in Endgame which reduced interest among audiences for her solo outing.
