So, I finally saw this, and yes, it was good! But I didn't understand something. Miles looks like he's in high school. But I thought I heard people say he was in college? And he has a dorm at the school? And usually you only have dorms at college. So what's his situation?

^that confused me too. He seemed to be in high school but was living in a dorm type arrangement with a roommate. Weird. Also were some of the villains, like, mutants? Goblin and Scorpion were monsters and Kingpin was the size of a tank and strong enough to lift a bus!


yes, let me just add to the (very late I know, I just saw it yesterday) praise for this film, it was amazing! Best Spider-man movie Ive seen. Well Ill admit I'm not a big Spider-man fan, Ive only seen the Raimi films and the first one with Garfield. This def deserved its Oscar! Puts Disney's BH6 to shame.

some random comments:
yes the frame rate is my biggest complaint about the film. I don't understand why they felt the need to do it that way. It didn't look like it was supposed to mimic stop motion or claymation. Fortunately the movie's art, characters and story were so good it kept me engaged enough that it wasn't such a deal breaker for me. Still I would have preferred they have not done it that way.

I do wish they had slowed down some of the action scenes just b/c I had a hard time keeping up with them & following the flow, but I'll admit that could just be me. Maybe I'm just getting older, lol. I do love how they were staged and directed, very inventive!

My favorite characters were Peter B.(what a dilf!) and Lady Oc(omg I loved her Trelawney on crack design!) Too bad she got hit by a bus, I hope she's not dead and returns for the sequel. Also Gwen and Miles, they were just such cuties! Also loved Penny and Noir...I was worried Porker would be one of those obnoxious sidekick types, but he was very well done, like the action doesn't suddenly stop so he can have some funny shtick that's clearly placed there so the kids wont get too bored, something too many of the other studios tend to do. Really there wasn't a bad character in this whole film!

Oh, thank you so much for a response and sharing your own thoughts on the film! I looked on Wikipedia and Miles in the comics is a high school student, so I guess he went to a high school with dorms, which, you're right, is weird. I also hated the frame rate, but like you, I got so into it I didn't mind, though I wish they hadn't done it that way. I didn't get the villains being like mutants or monsters either! And, yes, the main Peter Parker was such a dilf! I wish I could have a guy like him or the other Peter Parker! But I thought you had no romantic or sexual feelings so I do not understand why you personally thought he was a dilf? Lol

oh I guess I shouldn't have used dilf, I just see it(and milf) used a lot to describe good looking older men & women(and actually Im probably older than him since I think he's only supposed to be in his late 30's. And he never had kids anyway, lol.)

and Im asexual but I do find attractive men nice to look at. I just don't want to date them or have sex with them. I hope that makes sense.

I haven't seen the movie but it's possible Miles goes to a prep school which is why he has a dorm room and roommate as a high schooler.

We just rented this this past weekend. It was really good. I'm not a big Spider-Man fan; I've only seen the first Tobey Maguire one back in high school, but this was great. I really liked the art style. Peni's story arc made me cry, and Porker was funny! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the sequel!
