There was actually a story arc in my favorite web comic, "Shortpacked!" about mummies. The gimmick was that mummies are only bandaged because underneath they look so sparkly and pretty that if mortal people saw them they would be so jealous.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

Yeah, I guess I was just really bored and had never read posts in this thread before...
Ugh, SPOILERS ahead! If you haven't read all 4 books, you might want to not read my post!
I read part of the first book back in 2008, and really enjoyed it, although I wasn't able to finish (it was borrowed). But, then I saw the movie a few months back, and then read all the books rediculously quickly- they are really addictive. Now I'm a fangirl. I even have an Edward & Bella t-shirt that I wear to bed.
This was really funny, IMO:
<object width="512" height="328" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" id="ordie_player_58883cb811"><param name="movie"value="http://player.ordienetworks.com/flash/fodplayer.swf" /><param name="flashvars" value="key=58883cb811" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed width="512" height="328" flashvars="key=58883cb811" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" quality="high" src="http://player.ordienetworks.com/flash/fodplayer.swf" name="ordie_player_58883cb811" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object><div style="text-align:left;font-size:x-small;margin-top:0;width:512px;"><a href="http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/58883c ... on-trailer" title="from Ethan Newberry">DUBGASM: Twilight New Moon Trailer</a> - watch more <a href="http://www.funnyordie.com/" title="on Funny or Die">funny videos</a></div>
And about the "greatest vampire movie ever" thing (from page 4- about Lauren Bacall): I don't like Twilght because of the vampires...I don't really care about vampire movies besides this...I like it for the romance and action, and I bet that a lot of the fans probably feel the same way; were they aliens or mummies, we'd probably still like the series!
That comic strip, Mooky- I just right-click-saved that...so funny!

I agree. I love Jacob. I do like Edward very much, but if I were Bella, I would've stayed with Jacob after Edward came back...I mean, he left her, she could've died...I love how Jacob is...I don't know, so loyal, so sweet.Widdi wrote:Jacob Black > Edward Cullen
I didn't know that "all those people" liked Jacob more. I don't think that Edward is uncool, but I like how Jacob is so normal, so laid back (obviously not counting the werewolf thing. ). But, your second point is a good one- you can't help who you fall in love with. Had Edward not come back, I can see Bella learning to fall in love with Jacob, more than she had, I mean.rs_milo_whatever wrote:I really don't see why all these people like Jacob Black so much more than Edward Cullen, Bella may be stupid but Edward is cooler . Besides you don't pick who you fall in love with.
OMG...OMG...OMG! Seriously?!?! While I was reading the books, Bobby's uncle (hey, he reads a lot ) said that that was his favorite book, and when I was reading it, I could see why. It is SO action-packed, edge-of-your-seat. I already knew about Renesmee (um, thanks to you, Dan...saying that Anya and Xander dated SO doesn't equal saying that Bella and Edward had a kid. But, I mean, it didn't ruin the experience for me, but still... ), but I didn'tknow how everything was going to be played out and how it was going to end. Going back to Jacob- I'm glad that it all worked out for him with Bella (because of Renesmee)- I like that he doesn't have to be sad about her loving Edward.PeterPanfan wrote:Breaking Dawn sucked. All of the chracters were out of character, and it was just bad.
I think that R.Patz is hot as Edward, but in real life, he's just so scruffy...occasionally I'll find him attractive, but not usually. And he's so not my type of person, anyway, it seems.PeterPanfan wrote:Robert Pattinson and Stephenie Meyer scare me.
I adore Alice...I want to be friends with her! She's just so gosh-darn likable.PeterPanfan wrote:(Alice Cullen) - My favorite Cullen! I loved her, and really wished she was in more scenes.
Because it's romantic! I sop up sap like this...we (meaning teenage girls and myself, since I'm not one anymore ) just kind of like to live vicariously through characters like Bella...their lives are more exciting and romantic than our own!PatrickvD wrote:But there's just something pathetic about all these girls obsessing over a "girl falls in love with vampire" story. Why do all these girls insist on loving something so awful? There's much better entertainment out there for them.
Because Taylor Lautner didn't have long hair, and he needed long hair due to him cutting it in New Moon!rs_milo_whatever wrote:And Jacob wearing a weave? Why?
As a self-proclaimed boring person, I can relate to that aspect of Bella. I mean, Edward facinates her in the beginning, and they get to know each other...I mean, she can't help and he can't help that he brings excitement into her life! And Edward can't help how he feels; I mean, he'd rather have not had the feelings he had for Bella, since it was very dangerous, but she also couldn't help how she felt and she just couldn't not be with him.Disney Duster wrote:My main gripes was Bella being a nobody who has no life or excitement until she meets a boy. Oh wait he's a vampire even more exciting, so what she can't feel happy until she meets some impossible dream creature? And she's ordinary and boring, and weak, but especially compared to this vampire boy. A beautiful, smart, strong, super vampire who's perfect and better than her in every way. Sometimes I thought the relationship was downright disgusting, especially when I thought how easily he could kill her and indeed, had the desire to kill her.
That was great!Old Fish Tale wrote:I had to post this! The red head was awesome!

I found this somewhere recently.
Heheheh.
Also, has anyone read parody scripts of Twilight and New Moon called Twilight in 15 Minutes and New Moon in 15 Minutes? They're so funny! They contain explicit language so be warned.

Excerpt from New Moon in M15M:Biology Class
[There's only one seat open and guess whose table it's at. NO, GUESS. Edward's even sitting in front of a taxidermy owl so it looks like he has wings sprouting from his shoulders. You know. Because he is an angel marble cupcake Adonis. And then he gets a whiff of Bella's outrageous flavor, clutches his nose, and spends the entirety of biology looking like he's going to hurl.]
BELLA: I... I have no self-esteem now.
[A pack of biker guys in the parking lot start catcalling at the girls, so Bella flashes back to that time in the first movie when she got in trouble with street-prowling lowlifes and Edward rode in on the Vampire Volvo of Great Justice to save her. Volvo: The vehicle of choice for busting out hardcore rescue maneuvers, yet dependable enough for the everyday chauffeuring of one's delicate human. The name always sounded way too much like a woman's secret place for Edward's comfort, but safety is important. In conclusion: Volvo. Out of habit, Bella starts heading for trouble.]
IMAGINARY EDWARD: No, Bella! Don't go any closer, my sweet moron!
BELLA: So... wait. If I risk my life in incredibly stupid ways, I'll have hallucinations of my ex-boyfriend berating me? SWEET.
[So Bella rides off with some really sketchy biker while Imaginary Edward wisps along all NEVER GO TO A SECOND LOCATION WITH A STRANGER and BELLA, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU ARE NOT EVEN WEARING A HELMET until finally even Bella gets freaked out by her complete lack of instinct for self-preservation.]
SOME BIKER: And then she just ran off before I could kidnap her or assault her or anything!
SOME OTHER BIKER: Aw, don't take it personally. She was probably just distraught over visions of her vampire ex-boyfriend.
