X2: X-Men United

Post by Jack »

Anyone see this yet? I wanted to see it opening day, but alas I couldn't. I'll surely see it this weekend though.

How'd everyone like it? I heard it was great.

Yeah, it was great! Just as good as the first... in many ways even better.

Sounds great.

The only thing I'm concerned about is that Wolverine's sarcasm won't be in X2. I absolutely loved quotes from the first like:

"What do they call you? Wheels?"
"Why not? Afraid you might like it?"
"You're a d**k."

LOL. Is he still like that in X2?

As a long time comic fan and collector, I was really pleased to see X2 has been done so well. Most of the current crop of comic related films have been grand, although this has to be the cream of the crop.

They've taken a great story from the comics and really made the best possible adaptation one could make out of it.

It also goes to show a bigger budget can sometimes make a difference for the better too!

Highly recommended.

They have set up #3 perfectly, as MMB said, for the Phoenix saga.
They might even explore the Mystique/Nightcrawler relationship as per the comics, or do more with Wolvie's past.
I'd like to see other characters (especially Gambit, who we saw the name of briefly on screen) in X3.
Other characters they have set up for #3 are Hank McCoy (Beast), Jubilee (sic?), Kitty Pryde and Colossus (who was very under-used in X2...).

I saw it on Friday and again on Sunday (and plan on going again this coming Friday). It's great! It's one of those movies that you can watch over and over again while liking it just as much every time. You also notice more of the little things that make this movie special every time you watch it.

Saw it last night was totally blown away. I expected it to be great, but it was fantastic! Very dark, epic feel to it. I loved seeing the characters again, and all the action was freakin' cool. Awesome movie - can't wait to own it.
